Slot Cars
- AutoWorld 2022 HO slot car manufacturer AutoWorld have some big plans for 2022 – including a range of 4-lane sets, wireless controllers and an adjustable power supply. The Nissan 240Z and Chevy Blazer are just two examples of their new tooling. You can find out more in the HO slot car section of the forum.
- Fly: Coming Soon Although not a full 2022 schedule, Fly have shown off prototypes of ten new cars – and that usually means they’ll be available soon-ish. Four Renaults, two BMWs and four Porsches – including a delectable Gulf 917k, complete with Steve McQueen figure. You can see them all in the SlotRacer News section.
- SRC Audi Sport Quattro S1 E2 That was a very encouraging New Year’s greeting from SRC. Does it mean the Quattro will be available is 2022? You can discuss SRC’s 2021-23 plans in the SlotRacer forum News section.
- Sideways Group 5 New Arrivals Most of the 2022 news from Racer Sideways will be about expanding their Modern GT range. However, these three new Group5 cars have just arrived in the UK, adding even more liveries to this fabulous collection of silhouette touring cars from the 70s and 80s. UK retailer Top Slots & Trains have them in stock now.

- Carver’s Goggomobil You can join Carver on a trip down memory lane as he recreates the classic German Goggomobil microcar in 1:32 scale. And – of course – he’s carving it all from wood.

- A track on the ceiling? Well, not quite, but Gpa113 has shared the details of his ingenious track which winches up out of the way when not in use.

- Williams FW11 Kit Conversion One of the highlights on the SlotRacer Facebook group this was Jean’s conversion of a 1:24 scale Williams FW11 model kit to a slot car. You can see more pics and video in the group.

- Club Maps Hopefully we’ll all be able to get back to racing this year. So if you’re looking for somewhere to race, check out our club maps page, which now includes the new SlotRacer’s Map, which we’ll be building up over the coming months.
- Manx Slot Car Club Racing was up and running on the Isle of Man last week – together with the obligatory post-Christmas mince pies and Cadbury’s Heroes. Congrats to Andy for his Revoslot win. As other UK clubs return this week – have fun, stay safe and look after each other.
- FOLM Dakar Dantan 2022 Enjoying the Dakar Rally? The closest event in the slot car world is the amazing FOLM Dakar Dantan. The third edition takes place near Limoges at the end of May – you can find out more, watch videos and sign up in the event’s Facebook group.
Proxy Racing
- Triple Crown – American Road Race Slot Car Proxy Tour The first event of the UK Triple Crown Proxy series is a tour of England, Wales & Scotland along similar lines to last years superb Brighton to John O’Groats Road Race. Preparations are underway and the route announced, so get your entries in and your cars prepared for the start in March.
- HO Proxy Drag Dracing The fifteenth race of this UK-based series takes place on 18-19 January. It’s time to dust off those dragsters and get them in the post to the south coast. All the coverage of the racing will be here on SlotRacer Online.
