Ok, we have our first set of results for Ninco (R1) and SCX (R2) vehicles.

I decided to re -run these 2 categories as there was some inconsistencies of the running times which were due to car set up issues.

So there we have the results from today, I will spend tomorrow setting up the Stage 7 SCX track which will be a different configuration from last years Proxy, although I don't quite know how it will look as yet  Talking

Great........

40 plus seconds lost on one stage,  from an entry which was running perfectly,  had been in the top 6 consistently,  and finished 2nd in class last year.
Poor contact??   Don't get it.

Yes, a lot of inconsistencies in R1. I wonder if they suffered from loose sand being flicked onto the rails, causing contact issues?

Could have been a loose wire or something else, but it never ran well from the start. I will take a look at this one, James Mitsubishi and the Bowler of MYST this morning to see what might have been the issue. Then decide whether to apply a default time to these cars or not.

Wavegreen Good Morning,

I have decided to respond to Pip's protest by staging a re-run of the Ninco and SCX Categories.
I agree that that 3 of the vehicles were running abnormally in comparison with the other (same spec) ones, so should have similar times.

After investigation the problem was due to to set up of the braids which were too narrow, or too close together even though they appeared to be in good condition.
I would add that additionally that Andy's Ninco BMW X5 and SCX Sandbuggy unfortunately the braids were also too short as well as too narrow, making it difficult to get good contact even when sprayed out.

James SCX Mitsubishi similarly ran better 2nd time around but somehow the braid contact did not work as well as it usually does on other tracks perhaps ?

I noticed this morning that the visual track appearance around the dunes looked different and much more defined from when I started yesterday, presumably due to the running the rest of the rounds yesterday, and probably not due to any changes regarding overnight shifting of sands etc due to environmental effects ( as it is in the garage)  Rofl

So the Revised results for Categories R1 & R2 are below

Ninco Category
1st Place - Gerry F (Bowler)
2nd Place - Mike Scott (Bowler)
3rd Place - Chris K (Mitsubishi)

SCX Category
1st Place - Paul C (Touareg)
2nd Palce - Lifeboats Racing ( Peugeot 405)
3rd Place - Hotlap (Peugeot 405)

And the revised results for Stages 1-6
