Welcome to my 10th Proxy (including the Extreme Raid ones)
Most of the participating Teams have founded the core element of these proxy events, some have intermittently entered them, and recently we have some new entrants.
To all and everyone of them I thank you for your interest and commitment. It is greatly appreciated that so many have enjoyed my style of Proxy and even some of the "off the wall ones"
This time we have the highest number of individual Entrants or Teams since the "Brighton to John O' Groats Road Race back in 2021
Touring Cars Teams Presentation
(this always takes me some time to complete and edit so eventually everyone should be on here, but each Team and photos will appear hopefully by the end of the day)
RoadRunners (Ford Galaxie & Honda Civic)
These are the cars I am entering, originally wanted to enter a Volvo 850 Estate (as I never raced an estate slot car before) instead of the Honda Civic, but bad weather hindered my earlier paint work attempts, and to be honest even when I did get to do it, it turned out pretty poor. So I had to strip it off again and currently it is only supporting a one colour covering....could I finish it by Saturday, highly unlikely but I may have another go today. But it does run quite fast.
Brumos RSR
An internationally recognised proxy enthusiast, he has entered some great cars in the past, and this time is no exception. The Porsche 911 is just fabulous to drive and with a B&W chassis is very stable. The SRC BMW was abit of an experiment I think, but it is essentially a rigid fixed chassis fitted with a 21K M7 motor. A good motor left wanting due to a poor chassis.
The paint work on both cars is really excellent...and of course Silver
Makem Movers (previously known as Rokers Roar)
A longstanding supporter as a host of the NERCS club and entrant, perhaps the change of name is an attempt to throw off that "coming last" expectation......perhaps not. But you have to admire this great looking Sunbeam Rapier and it is running quite well for such a small narrow car. The Camaro (if handled with care) runs very nicely.
Bangers Racing
A break with tradition as Bangers racing are only using the Slot it HRS adjustable chassis on the BMW 3.0CSL, the Alfa 156 is of the 3d chassis type (perhaps Chris run out of the Slot it HRS chassis). But Bangers racing were the overall Best Team in the Rally Proxy, can they make it 2 times in a row.
RNLI Lifeboats Racing
Welcome back to Lifeboats Racing, as customary both these have references to that great British Organisation of Lifesavers dedicated to saving lives of those who get into trouble in the open seas.

I also know that Jim has a really great collection of similarly decorated motorised boats which he exhibits on behalf of fundraising.
Another keen interest of his is the life of Jim Clark motor racing champion, so the Galaxie is decorated in the Jim Clark colours. He might be surprised to know that we have another Jim Clark decorated Ford Cortina car from Groundhogs, so there could be abit of competition between those two.
The Alfa GTA is standard Revoslot car, so that could valuable information for the future.
Team Cube
Another of our founding hosts and entrants to our Proxies, also an International player in the world of Proxy racing and has built a very good racing record across USA and Australia. At home on my Proxy series Team Cube have struggled to find their feet, but I am grateful for their persevering, and wish them well this time around. I have asked for them to fix a "body Standard issue" on their 2nd Round of the proxy. The Vauxhall is missing a few vital parts which needs to be fitted to make it acceptable representation of the actual model.
Mountain View
A welcome to my old club racing buddy, we normally get a high performance level out of his cars, and I was not disappointed this time. The Ninco converted BMW M3 was the fastest car of the initial 22 cars which I tested. Even the Class A Astra is putting in a good time. A great job.
Harrison's Racers
Also a welcome return to another NERCS based team, who have slowly been improving over the last few Proxies.
The Camaro looks like it will do well, the BMW 330i was more of a handful.
Team Alaric
Also from NERCS club a solo entry from the team. A very much standard car, which seems to be this teams preference, but it does work quite well
Groundhogs
Welcome back to our entrant from Woodland Fort.
To be honest I actually got a better qualifying time for the Cortina than from the Capri. The Capris a great looking models but the standard SRC chassis are really poorly made. Perhaps on others tracks we will see a different result......at least I hope so.
BARacer
Welcome back to another regular participant.
Sadly I had a similar experience with this Capri, rolled over too easily on the many corners of my track. The Alfa 155 was a quite different experience, maybe a little jumpy on the rear end but fun car to run. Great self decorated body, looks as good as one off the shelf.
Deadheads
An unusual basis for a theme "kind of heavy metal" I guess. This is a team comprising of Kevan and Andy from the Rally, the Audi A5 taking over from Mountain View as the fastest car so far, just short of the "Test Car" time. A very strong Team indeed.
ManxBrian
A very odd looking car, I had to look several times to recognise it as a Nissan Skyline, it is another based on B&W so naturally we got a good time from the car
ManxGeoff
Standard Slot it Calibre, I think this club has all the options covered
Red Devils
Welcome to another new team, this Alfa looks really fast
Ruscillo Racing
Also back for more, is another of the leading Proxy Teams and great friend of mine from our local Club. Often presents an outstanding car and this time it is the slot it Calibre, no doubt it will be a leading contender in this "fight of the Calibres" The BMW M3 seemed to struggle more on my track. Also I have raised an issue with the rear tyre width, and they have agreed to let me attempt to bring it back in line with the regulations.
ManxEd
Last of the Manx club entries is a Ninco version of the Calibre which is interesting.
Scott Sports
Another founding member of the Proxies, this team are trying their luck with a Ninco based Sierra and Modified Scalextric BMW 125i.
The Sierra was abit of a handful, although it has a lot of ballast it still seems very unstable.
Red Dragons
Another new team with a single entry. The modified Scalextric Laguna looks really great. There was an issue with the front wheels which were originally using very low profile tyres, but that has been resolved and on agreement with the entrant I have found some higher profile ones which makes it compliant.
Team Savage GT
Proving once again to be in the elite class of slot car builders, these cars are no exception. Both were great on the track, however the Calibre so far has proved to run the fastest lap of all the cars.
WVSAM
Another new entrant, Sam has made a name for himself on the National Slot Car Racing side and at Wye Valley Slot Club level. I think this is his first attempt at a proxy competition. So I hope he finds this as interesting. I wish him good luck.
Team Tatters
A very big welcome to our South Manchester Slot Club host, formerly his team was called the Yellow Devils from Brighton to John O Groats Road Race, and the "Lights out" Le Mans proxy series. He did very well with those especially in the Road Race we he had an epic battle with HOTLAP. and based on his qualifying times, history could be repeating itself.
HOTLAP
And talking of the Brighton to John O Groats Road Race , we have returning once again the champion of that proxy. Host of the Wye Valley Club we have a great record of working with Phil over the last few years in regard to the Road Race, Extreme Slotting and most recently the Rally Slotting. His qualifying time was very good, but unfortunately a Scrutineer issue might leave Phil on the back foot. Not for one moment though do I think he can't recover from that based on his times.
ALS Racing
Although 2 cars are expected only the Audi has arrived so far. Additionally sadly the rear tyres are of the wider variety which makes it non compliant. As this entrant lives in the US there is no chance to get this sorted in time. Having discussed the options ALS will accept the penalties to be applied. The BMW 2002 manged to get here just in time.
