Although not entered it'll be very interesting to follow, especially if there's any video
I have a couple of Raid vehicles but no track to test on so decided not to enter this proxy.

My cars will be in the post tomorrow. Apologies, like Makam (Gerry) I have totally lost track of time. Fingers crossed they get there in time.

Good Morning,
well the packaging & box is ready,
just thought I would share this photo as a "Dakar" like gathering of the more bespoke models.
With the Police, AA & RNLI in attendance we seem to have every eventuality covered

Good luck everyone!

Control..."Car 67, can you attend an RTA in the High Street?
Car 67..."Sorry sarge, we are....err......err....otherwise engaged in an....err...incident. The AA and the RLNI are also in attendance. May be some time."

Thought I would do a pre-proxy preview of the teams.
Woodcote (Andy P) has sent in the previously successful Ninco BMW X5 & SCX Sand buggy
A last round shoot out secured the winning medal for Andy over Mike Scott's Bowler in the Ninco Category last year.
The SCX Thunderflash secured 2nd place after another shoot out between this car and Pauls Touareg.
MYST (Michael) a regular Wye Valley Club member is joining us this year with his Ninco Bowler and a Scaleauto Porsche 959 for the R3 category. This is the first of 3 similar Porsche 959 entries this year.
ClassichrisK (Chris K) - fancies he chances with 2 entries in this proxy. His first entry is the first of 3 Ninco Mitsubishi's we have in this Category. His 2nd emtry is an ambitious Landrover project based on a Ninco chassis for the Dakar Sprint (R5) Category.
BARacer - Also new to this challenge is running 3 vehicles, first off is a modified SCX Touareg with alloy wheels running in the R3 category. He is also pinning his hopes in the Dakar Sprint on a tiny Fiat Panda. And finally from the tiny to the very large, he is running a MAN truck with Mitoos chassis to take on the heavyweight category.
Hotlap (Phil F)- Returning this year with a standard Mitsubishi for the Ninco Category, and a re-run for the Peugeot 405 in the SCX Category. In the R3 lightweight category he is entering another Scaleauto Porsche 959.
Lifeboats Racing (Jim S) - Running both his cars from last yea, Peugeot 405 & Avant Mitsubishi for R3, both with their distinctive RNLI livery, looking as good as ever.
Paul C - Also returning after winning the SCX Category with his Touareg in last year's shoot out with Andy. And also running the Ninco Mitsubishi from last year.
Mike Scott - Surely this must be Mikes year with another run with his Ninco Bowler, after last years shoot out with Andy's BMW X5. For his 2nd entry Mike has sent in a Porsche 911SC as a Dakar Sprint entry. This is a clever adaptation of a scalextric based car with full suspension added and some wickedly large rear wheels.
Groundhogs (Mike S)- Returning this year with his widely acclaimed Ford Transit AA Rescue van, this time it will be classified as a R4 Heavyweight vehicle for trucks and vans. Mike has also provided one of the strangest entries, which is a A30 Police car, which is a wolf in sheep's clothing as it is based on a small Mitoos Panda chassis.
I have PROVISIONALLY classified this as a R5 Dakar Sprint car, as it seemed the most appropriate Category for the model. On testing on my Carrera track it did not seem particularly advantaged over the other entries, so I have included it here.If it becomes obviously advantaged over the others, then I made decide to move it into the R3 category.
James A - Also returning with last years entry's the SCX Mitsubishi and Scaleauto Porsche 959.
Gpa113 (Pip) - And retuning with his very decorative Ninco Touareg.
Makem (Gerry F) - Is entering his previous years cars, the Ninco Bowler and Avant Mitsubishi.
Graham E -Finally having seen the Trucks ran in last years "Raid Rally" at Wye Valley Club, I just had to run one this year, so I have purchased a Mercedes Truck from Spain which is based on a Resin body and Fibreglass CNC cut chassis. So should be interesting to see how it makes out. Additionally I am running the Odyssey 21 Extreme E buggy again this year, but in the newly classified R3 Category for lightweight vehicles. I am additionally entering a standard Ninco Porsche 911SC for the Dakar sprint R5 category.
Good luck everyone in the "Extreme Slotting - Final Run"
