looks like we have quite a learning curve here graham ( rules wise )
we will get there .... this is the 1st such event here
in my opinion .... lets just run 'as is'
after the event we can correct the rules where necessary

From my beginners perspective, there is not much chance for me to tune my car on the intended track for the event, so my joy will come from just seeing it traverse all those weird and exotic obstacles rather than looking for the win.
Which gave me another thought...in October, everything will be back to normal (!), and on the basis that I would drive a fair distance to drive my car off-road and learn how it behaves over Dakar terrain, why not drop the proxy and hire a village hall and set up all the tracks Slotracer.Online can muster and we all have one great big tea and cake and sand dune Slotfest?

Hi BARacer,
I would like to think that in future a live event would be worth organising, and if someone else wants to do this then why not.
But at the moment I will be focused on seeing how this Proxy event works out in October.

Hello,
Yes I am also very confident that next October the health (and economic) crisis will become to be a bad (very bad) souvenir.
Yes, the organisation of an event is very hard. If you want to participate and speak with the organiser, you are welcome to the 3rd FOLM DAKAR D'ANTAN, on 28th & 29th of May, 2022 (switch of the 2021 edition), nerby Limoges, in the center of France. There should also be Spanish and Belgium participants. That will be very informative for an event in UK and you will have fun to play.
Have a nice week-end (unfortunatly rainy in Paris).
Marc

I checked yesterday...just a 6.5hr drive from our local ferry. That's doable.

If only I was closer, it’s a fair trip from the north east of England! Would be cool to see though!

Lovely idea Jeremy, wherever it's held would be a long day for me unless we hold it down here in Cornwall and make everyone else travel
Currently my cars aren't tested at all, one of my entries in the Brighton to Scotland has never turned a wheel on a track of any sort, it's first running will be the Brighton stage, but I will be entering all classes of the GBakar rally, I now have a Ninco (not even powered on a battery yet) an SCX is on the way, and my plans for the unlimited class are well established (in my head)
