Hi,
I have never participated to a proxy before, so I have to learn... everything.
I will present your proxy to my French rallye-raid gentlemen friends.
I have a temporary rallye-raid Ninco track and several cars. I could prepare one car for this proxy (dont dream, it will not be the 205, most probably an SCX or a Ninco).
Track under construction :

Hi Marcury,
you would be very welcome to join us in this experiment. Also any of your Rallye-Raid contacts.
It is a very new idea to have a Proxy for these Raid slot cars, so I am not sure good this would be, but we have some experience in Proxy racing for other slot car types like rally cars. You may notice that the other new event I have been involved with is based on a "Simulated Slot car Road Race" from South to North coast "Brighton to John O'Groats" This is due to start in April.
But the basic idea for the "Extreme Slotting" would be along the same basic idea, which is that the cars from entrants are sent from one host to another who will test the cars for the shortest time around his or hers Raid car track. Eventually there would be a winning car over the 5 Raid tracks run on. In the UK this will be mostly based on SCX tracks, I think one host has a Ninco Raid track the other 4 hosts are based on SCX. NInco is very difficult to get in England. I managed to buy 2 Ninco pieces last week and I have an adaptor to work with my mostly SCX Raid track. I would like to end up with a mixed track of SCX & Ninco eventually. If over time this idea of a Proxy Raid competition becomes interesting to more entrants, might even think to make a hard home made track, but that is perhaps in the future.
We are occupied at the moment with making the Proxy "Road Race" a success, but once we have completed this by the end of June, we can start to plan something for this new idea, probably to run in the mid to late autumn.

i have hardly ever used this car
bought on a whim
have never used this car without a magnet
and i assume due to the high COG these would be quite difficult magless ?
are they usually run without or with magnet ?
what about tuning ? is there any info anywhere ?

I had a quick look at the rules for the Dakar slot car event in Paris, and I believe they run all the classes without magnets, but as this is our first time for this kind of event I am open to suggestions.
Perhaps we could make 2 race classes,
Class A - std out of box Scalextric/SCX & Ninco models with magnets.
Class B- all types of models but without magnets.
This might be a reasonable starting place "for us beginners"
What I will do is to translate the "Dakar" rules and post them up, but as I said this is entirely new territory for most of us including myself. So we should mostly treat this first event as a learning excersize and not take it too seriously.

Proposed "Extreme Slotting Regulations"
Hi I took some time out to explore the Paris Dakar rues and see how it could be applied to our new event.
Here is my proposal

I see the phrase "scratch modification" in the proposed rules but no description of what that phrase means or whether "scratch modification" is permitted.
Aren't "modification" and "scratch building" completely different things?

Hi Alan,
I don't think there is a contradiction in these terminology's in regard to this type of racing.
Basically the rules are saying that changes to tyres, removal of magnets or not, addition of ballast is not regarded as a Scratch type of modification to any of the racing classes. Whereas changes of motor, suspension, drop-arm guide, body type or chassis would be only allowed in class C3. So that class C3 allows for modifications to class 1&2 type vehicles from standard brands and alternatively fully scratch built vehicles.
Maybe I am missing something, but as yet it is not clear to me what it is ?

If brass/pianowire chassis were to be allowed I would certainly build a suitable car, even moreso if lexan shells were allowed.

That's a very interesting view, and I don't really have a definitive answer as I never thought of an off road slot car vehicle based on metal chassis and vac formed body shell.
But in principal as this is a new type of event I would not see any reason to prohibit this kind of construction

That sounds good to me.
Box stock basically, with , or without magnets, plus an open "do what you want" class.
Got entries for classes A and B, will start planning something odd for class C
