2nd shakedown at SMSRC
I think Pendle flattered the mustang, long can motor, long gearing and substantial weight suited the flowing track well, at SMSRC it was a little bit trickier on the tighter sections when that weight needed to quickly transfer from one side to the other. But it's smooth and predictable so I'm just going to oil the tyres a but more and I think it is finished.
The AMG was awful again:
Symptoms: jerky power delivery, noisy, sometimes stopped on low throttle, not responsive.
I've taken the motor out and tested on a power supply and tacho and it runs fast, smooth and consistent so I think it's ok.
With the motor out the rear axle spins freely in the bearings.
The gear and pinion mesh seems ok, both slot it parts so should be decent enough quality.
I've stripped everything out, removed the hot glue around the motor, cleaned the soldering up and replaced braids and guide wire with some nsr stuff. New nsr supergrips on the rear and glazed the fronts. I'm hoping that will sort it. Final shakedown before they have to get in the post tomorrow night.
