I don’t know what’s happened to my Petronas Mercedes Truck, it has the same latest lightweight F1 chassis which was fitted to their W13 car, but I guess the upgrades are not working for me  Bigsmile
Too much porpoising perhaps

Extreme Slotting Rally-Raid Proxy Stage 4 -  The Send Scramble Part 2

Here is today's layout.   Less extreme than last year, which went out of a window,  down a ladder,  and back in at the next window!

The descent/incline was 68 cms, the length of the straight 195 cms.
Only one set of obstacles,  right next to the driver station.  I included an SCX Hump back bridge, which everything coped with really well!
The double "Camel Humps" added a good challenge, and it proved a really fun, fast track.

Similar to Stage 3, each entry got 6 laps of practice (it gives me a chance to get the hang of them), then 5 timed laps.
Timing via LapTrax,  which worked perfectly.

Results up later,  more likely tomorrow!

Extreme Slotting Rally-Raid The Send Scramble Part 2.

Here we go....

The classes ran in the same order as Part 1, but the entries in reverse of the results sheet.
This meant the lovely Peugeot 405 of Jim's Lifeboats Racing was first to go.

The two Peugeot 405s just don't feel as fast, Hotlaps entry took 4th,  Jim's 5th.
The top 3 were covered by only 1.15s, super close.
Fastest on this stage was Paul's VW Touareg,  which was really quick.  2nd to the brilliant Sand Buggy of Andy P,  a fraction ahead of James's Mitsubishi.   All the SCX entries coped easily with the terrain,  and were great to drive, thanks guys!

Part 2 shook the results up, with the VW Touareg jumping from 3rd to 1st, and taking the class win by a whopping 0.86 of a second!
Well done Paul, the VW felt very fast, and nimble.
2nd in class to James A, the Mitsubishi 0.16s infront of the cracking Sand Buggy entered by Andy P.
4th to Hotlaps Peugeot,  with Jim's example in 5th.   Great fun Thumbup

Extreme Slotting Rally-Raid The Send Scramble Part 2.

Ninco class R1.

All the Ninco vehicles went brilliantly on this stage, good through the complex radius bends, great over the double Camel Humps,  and really motoring up the steep incline. They felt quicker than the SCX class, and so the times proved.

This was so close.  How close? 0.61s between the top 4, and only 2.7s between the top 6 Thumbup

Fastest time to ClassicchrisK's Mitsubishi,  one hundreth of a second ahead of Hotlaps similar model.  Both felt just perfect.
My own VW Touareg took 3rd,  just edging the class favourite Bowler Nemesis of Mike.
5th was the Andy's BMW,  with Paul's Mitsubishi right behind.  The Bowler of MYST 7th,  and Gerry's Bowler 8th.  Gerry, your Bowler has significantly bigger tyres than all other Ninco entries,  and doesn't feel quite as easy to drive fast. Just an observation.

The podium surprisingly stayed the same, with a only a second between each of the podium places.
My VW hanging on to take the Class win, it is a lower bodyshell,  which seems to be working,  so far!
2nd to the Orange Bowler from Mike, this is great. A really good 3rd to ClassicchrisK's Mitsubishi,  so close to taking the class, we'll done!

After this we had Hotlaps Mitsubishi and Andy's BMW neck and neck,  with a small gap back to 6th Paul, 7th MYST and 8th Gerry.

Any of these are capable of winning  a stage depending on the layout, brilliant class of models.  Checkeredflag

Extreme Slotting Rally-Raid The Send Scramble Part 2.

Class R3 Lightweight Vehicles.

First to go was the awesome Porsche 959 from MYST, which clocked the fastest time of the stage,  at 56.97s.  Way to go!
Event organiser Grahan bagged 2nd,  the Odyssey was really fast, but its heavy, so needed care at the sharp bends.
3rd in class was another Porsche,  this belonging to Hotlap.  This one has a different chassis,  and drives a bit differently to the others. Very smooth.
The Mitsubishi Lancer,  which is another Extreme Slotting veteran,  of Gerry was really good on this layout,  and a close 4th.
The final Porsche of James 5th,  Lifeboats Racing Mitsubishi 6th,  BARacers VW a little slower in 7th.

The Class victory went to Graham's  Mitoos chassis Odyssey.  A proper Rally-Raid set up this one.
MYST's Porsche leapfrogged Hotlaps similar Porsche to get 2nd,  Phil taking a close 3rd.
After this came James A in 4th,  with Gerry in 5th,  then a gap back to a great battle over 6th.  This just went the way of Lifeboats Racing from BARacers bringing up the rear.

A varied bunch, but I do like those Porsches.....

Category R4 Trucks.

The turn of the big boys Bigsmile

Interesting,  if a little balmy!

The twin motor MAN of MYST took the win. Its fast, actually handles OK, and could probably cope with anything you could throw at it!
Absolutely amazing.    GROUNDHOGS Mitoos chassis Transit AA patrol van was a very close 2nd,  with Graham's Mercedes Truck going much better on this more free flowing route to take 3rd,  and only 4 seconds off the top spot.    The MAN of BARacer completed the class, and likes to do its own thing, loved it Wavegreen

When the times were added I was surprised to see that the MAN of MYST had taken a very narrow class win , just 0.38s clear of GROUNDHOGS Transit. Totally different,  but both really good.
Graham completed the podium places,  the Mercedes comfortably clear of Jeremy's  MAN.

A fantastic opportunity to try these amazing trucks,  thank you so much for entrusting them to the Extreme Slotting Rally-Raid event.
They were all brilliant fun.
