All set and ready to go for today's Stage 7 - The Highs and the Lows.
Just a few of the Ninco obstacles on today's stage, and well within reach of the driver position, including 2 small boulders on the tarmac descent, which needs to be taken with care.
Barriers in place to stop any Health and safety issues
Results time..... Stage 7 - The Highs and the Lows.
Today I have run the Classes in reverse order, and in reverse order of the entry list. Each run is 3 minutes, and the layout is just under 12 metres.
So first up was Class D - Scratchbuilt "Wacky Racers"......with the Police Anglia of Bernie the first to try out today's stage.
Super close today, with an inspired last run from Mike's Lego Men stealing the win from the unbelievable Panda Car of Bernie.
The young "herberts" in the Fiesta XR2i struggled a bit today, bigger front wheels needed boys....whilst the brilliant looking Datsun Pick Up of OXO spent a lot of time pulling wheelies again, as the drop arm guide restraint system failed way back ......
Results ..... Stage 7 - The Highs and the Lows. Class C - Avant/ Scaleauto/ Mitoos.
A convincing win this time for the Mitsubishi of Jim, which looks great in its RNLI colour scheme. Slightly lucky, as it only completed one full run, the drivers side rear wheel came off as soon as it started its second run. I will repair it, and get it sorted before it goes to the next host, but I was not doing repairs mid stage. Very close for 2nd, with Gerry's Mitsubishi, with very loose occupants, just ahead of Phil's Mitsubishi.
Results for Stage 7 - The Highs and the Lows, Class B - SCX.
Again, a very close set of results. These were great fun to drive, I haven't driven an SCX off roader at speed for a few years...
The VW Touareg of Paul winning by almost a full lap, and completing its second run with a clear round, not coming off once.
The long wheelbase Hummer of Jim was awesome, very stable and forgiving, with OXO's VW going much better after the braids got a quick wipe.
great layouts and excellent after action reporting & pics
also loving your routed layout , very nice
'Datsun Pick Up of OXO spent a lot of time pulling wheelies again, as the drop arm guide restraint system failed way back ...... '
need to come up with a much better design for the drop arm retainer , maybe a spring affair for next year
Final set of results for Stage 7 - The Highs and the Lows - Ninco.
A really varied set of results in this class. Some really enjoyed this Stage, and set really good scores, others struggled....
An easy win for the Mitsubishi Montero of Phil, 18.5 laps, second best score of the Stage. You can tell he's good at this, it was so well set up
Super close for 2nd, with Bernie's Mitsubishi Montero finishing just 0.1 of a lap clear of yet another Mitsubishi Montero, Paul, who tied for 3rd with the lovely orange Nemesis Bowler of Mike.
