Extreme Slotting

Is there a reference number for that ninco set? Or will it be obvious once I search?

I love puttering with gears

Hi Jeremy,

Have taken a couple of photos of the box, and brochure.

I got very lucky and found mine on eBay.  Not something you see often.  Track length is 12.05 metres,  and it runs excellently,  even after months of not being used.  Not as extreme as an SCX set, but more track and a good challenge to drive.

Results time......Class A - Ninco.

Stage 6  -   Send Scramble.

Really good fun set of cars.  You have to give the obstacles some respect, but some very well set up entries.
Only issue was Andy's BMW,  which through its 4 wheel drive belt on run 1.

Results...Class B -  SCX

Stage 6  -  Send Scramble.

These take most obstacles with ease, but are much easier to loose control on the tighter corners.

Paul's VW taking a pretty convincing win, but close for 2nd.  The Stormrider Buggy is definitely different......

Results for Class C  -  Upmarket entries  Rofl

Sorry,  rather gave the results away for this class with an incorrect podium photo for Class B......

These proved tricky on such a tight and twisty layout,  the extra weight not helping on the tightest of turns, especially for the Jaguar I Pace...

Results for Class D  -  Scratchbuilt.

Stage 7  -  Send Scramble.

A comfortable win for the two young lads in the modifed Ford Fiesta XR2i,  the only entry to get over the obstacles without issue.
Mike's Lego men had one good run in their Pajero,  before the rear axle problems happened again.  The Panda Car is so small it actually goes between some obstacles,  and the awesome Highwayman Pick Up has issues with its drop arm guide  which causes it to perform "wheelies ", especially on the tighter bends.  Great fun Wrench

Stage 6  - Send Scramble.

A thoroughly enjoyable,  but pretty long,  session of Extreme Slotting.
Only a couple of entries had problems,  but each entrant managed at least one really good run.

The Ninco class was particularly close, with Phil Fields Mitsubishi Montero edging the Nemesis Bowler of Mike Scott by only 0.1 of a lap, great fun to drive, thanks guys.

I will be setting up tomorrow's Stage 7 -  The Highs and Lows  - in the morning,  as we have an SSRC Club night this evening  Cool
So plenty of Slot racing for me today.

Today was a better stage for shorter wheelbase cars, let's see what happens tomorrow  Checkeredflag
