Couldn't find a home for this, so thought it might make a Weekly Topic, or not

Over time with upgrades to the cars rear wheels and in general the wheel inserts falling out, am wondering what are your thoughts on Wheel Inserts or Not.

Myself, I prefer and like the look of the metal wheels (no inserts) now this comes with inherent risks as some of the wheels (no inserts) have copped a decent hit and the wheel being dented, wonder if the insert might have saved the wheel dents?

My track cars are exactly that, track cars, they show the scars of racing, even got one, the Revoslot Dodge Viper where I had some IPA on my fingers and it attacked the paint work...

Fiat 500 in the works, resin body needs a little attention.

found slide bearings for 2mm axles on aliexpress - had to try them.

best combination are slot.it axles and the bearings with the flange. all other do not offer good axle play.
jedelloh axles should work with a little sanding, too.

chassis in the pictures offers the possibility to unmount the fully rear axle.
in combination with a tire trueing machine the perfect way to get round tires!

I mostly made little dioramma's of a onroad race track until i came across this rally beetle, so i went for a mudy road somewhere in a rally stage.
To give the mud some structure i mixed plaster powder with some left over brown to get the look of real mud.
The dioramma is a piece of wood i had laying around, the elevation is made with pieces of insulation foam i found on a construction site, green is flocking from woodland scenics, stones and little parts i found in my garden.
Hope you like it!

You know, Something similar to this:

Livery and running gear/chassis condition or presence not important, just want a reasonable body.
I can find new but I don't want to pay collector money as I intend on using it as a basis to attempt modifications.
So if you have one or two worse for wear and can help me out, PM me with what you have and what you would like for it please  Checkeredflag

Fancy stepping back in time to the heyday of post-war British motor racing? Thanks to Lord March and the good people of West Sussex, you can. The 2021 Goodwood Revival Meeting takes place this weekend. In fact, the 'Over the Road' entertainment area will be opening about now. Action on the track starts Friday morning with all the practice and qualifying sessions and then a one-hour twilight race for early 60s GT cars - the Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy.

The full timetable is here: https://www.goodwood.com/motorsport/good...timetable/

And you can download a pdf of the entry list here: https://www.goodwood.com/globalassets/.r...021-v3.pdf

The crowds will be back this year - although not in quite the same numbers as usual. The full event will be available to view online and via some highlights programmes on ITV. Details of the coverage is here: https://www.goodwood.com/grr/event-cover...d-revival/

I'll be popping along tomorrow - so I'll give you a wave and take a few pictures to post here. Looks like the weather will be okay. Fingers-crossed....

I mean [A]: Look at these:

[B] They would be robust slot cars like NASCAR Cars were.
Even some generic ones with no brand name smooth front that you could decal grills/lights to look like the Ford/Chevy/Dodge and Toyotas would be sweet, and no licensing fees !

and [C] according to wikipedia dimensions are:

Wheelbase: 2,845 mm
Length: 5,245 mm
Height: 1,524 mm
Width: 2,032 mm

Which would make a great 1/32 slot truck capable of utilising long or short can motors in any AW/SW or Inline configuration:

Wheelbase: 88.9 mm
Length: 163.9 mm
Height: 47.6 mm
Width: 63.5 mm

Hello All,

Complete Newbie to the 1/32 scene. Been purchasing slot cars since Feb 2020, just before lockdown. I've now got time to solder in chips to non DPR cars. I also bought lighting kits for the slot.it range of cars I have. However...I've never been taught how to solder, watching you tube vids. But there's no guidance on how to install the SP16C lighting kits to the slot.it cars, let alone much room/hole for the LED's!
Please help, if you've managed to add lights to slot.it cars, Fly cars, it'll be fantastic if you link a video to it or even photos.
Thank you very much in advance.

Is that a thing, slot (non-Carrera) that are chip-ready and can accept a Carrera chip with not too much fuss?

Scalextric C4212 Pagani Huayra Roadster BC - Yellow. RRP £39.99. Available now.

A super-resistant Scalextric car might seem an unlikely subject for a SlotRacer Online news item, but this brand new Pagani Huayra Roadster BC is a bit special. It looks sensational and its track performance - both with and without magnets - is impressive. So much so, I'll be writing a review very soon.

The Huayra is a low-volume Italian hypercar – only 100 were produced of the original version, with another hundred Roadsters following in 2017. The BC is a modified track-focused evolution – twenty were manufactured and sold instantly at £2 million each. The total run of Roadster BCs is limited to forty cars. The model’s debut was in June 2019, via the CSR2 racing app – an unusual way to launch a car, but certainly a very large and appreciative audience.

The Roadster BC is powered by a 789 bhp 6-litre twin-turbo Mercedes V12, giving a 0-60 time of 2.2 seconds and a top speed of 238 mph. The monocoque of the roadster is constructed of carbon-titanium HP62 material, making the chassis low weight and rigid. Aerodynamic downforce is aided by an F1-style blown-diffuser – the Roadster BC is claimed to generate a massive 1,102 lbs of downforce at 174 mph. The Pagani Huayra Roadster BC really is the ultimate track day hypercar...

Scalextric's range of mostly super-resistent hypercars are good sellers. Their mid-range price point and robust layout certainly help, but they are also the nearest any of us mere mortals are going to get to owning one. Although some of the cars have been more hit than miss in my eyes, the Lamborghini Centenario was one of the most stunning Scalextric models I can remember. The Huayra is even better...

Whereas I normal turn my nose up at blacked-out windows on slot cars, these hypercars look really cool with them - better than they would if they were completely clear. There is an interior included, plus posts to fit a lightboard on the chassis - so a high-detail version of the Huayra is an option. I just hope it has heavily tinted windows and a helmeted track-day driver. Another super-resistant livery is due over the winter, this purple ‘Drago Viola Edition’...

I'll look more closely at the chassis layout and performance in my review. However, I do want to say that the Huayra has phenomenal handling with and without magnets, breaking the lap records on my test track for a Scalextric car. With NSR Supergrips fitted on the back, magnet removed and 2.5g of weight in front of the motor, the Scalextric Huayra managed to get into the edge of NSR & Slot.it territory in terms of races scores and lap times. Almost every new Scalextric model I've tested over the past year has been surprisingly good - and I suspect that's more about design decisions than luck.

If you want to try one for yourself, the yellow Huayra Roadster BC is available now from all your usual Scalextric retailers.
