Weevils Slot Cars were at Car-Fest South over the Bank Holiday weekend. In less than a fortnight they will debut their Family Fun Slot Fair at the Ardingly Show Ground in West Sussex. You can find out more in the Event section of the forum here.
Pendle have just announced a new addition to their PCS kit range. The Escort RS Turbo S1 is an inspired choice! A much sought-after Fast Ford – and with motorsport pedigree – this one is likely to fly off the shelves and tempt many a Ford fan to try their hand at building a slot car kit for the first time. The rather lovely RevoSlot ‘IGOL’ F40s has arrived in the UK. SlotRacer forum member SavageGT has already got his – as you can see on the ‘Cars bought by members in 2021’ thread here. It’s a great place to show off you favourite new cars and to see what people are buying. There’s definitely a bit of a RevoSlot thing going on at the moment!
Despite widespread disruption in the Far East, the 2021 Scalextric cars keep on coming. The latest to arrive is is Jake Hill’s 2020 Honda Civic Type-R. The livery is unique, commemorating the founding of MB Motorsport. Swiss Team developed the GT3 Maserati GranTurismo MC – and it’s their livery that graces the latest Slot.it release. This is a superb 1:32 scale rendition of an exceptionally beautiful GT car. Andy takes a look at the car and the model on the forum here.

The Nascar Cup Series playoff places were decided after a typically frantic Saturday-night race at Daytona. The Round of 16 begins next Sunday at Darlington, with the final four battling out for the 2021 championship in Phoenix on 7 November. It’s unusual for a thrilling qualifying session to enter the annals of Grand Prix history. George Russell was responsible for doing that on Saturday, putting his rather average Williams a whisker away from pole position at Spa. Thanks to monsoon conditions, Sunday’s race was the shortest ever Grand Prix – all 3 laps run behind the safety car. Spa’s Eau Rouge was back in the headlines again over the weekend. Just weeks after a massive crash in the 24 hours of Spa, two more top drivers were put in hospital after a six-car pile up during Saturday’s W-Series race. The Eau Rouge-Raidillon complex is one of the most wonderful sights in motor racing, but does something need to be done to make it safer? You can read Motorsport magazine’s view here.
The 2021 European Rally Championship reached its half-way point at the weekend. The Barum Czech Rally Zlín hosted the cream of the ERC, plus a large contingent of local Czech drivers. GT World Challenge Europe returned to the UK at the weekend. Two enthralling 60-minute races at Brands Hatch saw the best European GT teams and drivers compete in the penultimate Sprint event of the season.
