Let’s have a rummage through this week’s news!

Featuring four new cars from NSR, three from Scalextric, three from Avant Slot, two from Fly, one from Slot.it and one from Racing Replicas, plus our featured track, the latest events & video and of course our photo of the week.

Slot Cars

• NSR Corvette C7R NSR have announced the release of two new liveries of the Chevrolet Corvette C7R. The two models recreate the cars which raced at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2017. The release date is 31st July but you can pre-order them now.

• NSR Porsche 997 GT3 Also from NSR are two new Absolute Racing liveries for the Porsche 997. Again the release date is July 31st and you can pre-order them now.

• Slot.it Nissan R89C The Slot.it Nissan R89C which we featured a few weeks ago will be available from July 28th. The model recreates the the Group C car which was driven by Julian Bailey, Mark Blundell, and Martin Donnelly at Le Mans in 1989.

• Avant Slot Mitsubishi Lancer Avant Slot have announced that the upcoming Mitsubishi Lancers, with an improved chassis, will arrive in the last quarter of the year.

• Fly Ferrari 512S Fly have posted photos of a work in progress, evoking scenes from the filming of the classic Steve McQueen film, Le Mans. The separate driver figure recreates a shot in the movie, and the camera bolted to the front of the Ferrari recreates how some of the iconic shots were created.

• Fly Porsche 917 LH Also from Fly, and also from Le Mans is this long tailed Porsche 917 which was driven by Jackie Oliver at a test day in 1971. Coming soon.

• Racing Replicas Sebring Sprite Pete Shepherd has built up one of his own kits to model one of the original works cars. The kits are available to buy in kit form or fully built. They are high quality castings which require very little prep before painting and can be built quickly.

• Scalextric Ford Escort RS1600 The Scalextric Ford Escort RS1600 which we mentioned a couple of weeks ago is out now. The model represents the Embassy Team car of Timo Mäkinen and Henry Liddon which finished fifth in the 1971 RAC Rally.

• Scalextric Dodge Charger RT Another car hitting the streets this week is the sublime green Scalextric Dodge Charger street car.

• Scalextric Chevrolet Camaro Z28 The new Scalextric Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is also available now. Qualifying a credible 6th, the Camaro of Belgian drivers Michel de Deyne, Teddy Pilette and ‘Davit’ were running well at the sodden 1981 Spa 24hr race, until a car failure sadly put them out.

Featured Track

• Goodwood Targa GT Sprite’s Goodwood/Targa is a wonderfully evocative Scalextric layout, with plenty of great details to pick out all around the circuit. The track sets out from a packed and busy Goodwood pits and paddock, and quickly ends up racing through the villages of Sicily.
