Weevils Family Swapmeet - 12 September
#1

Sussex retailer Weevils Slot Cars have announced the date for their first Family Swapmeet...

  • Sunday 12 September 2021
  • 10am - 3pm
  • Norfolk Pavilion, South of England Showground, Ardingly, West Sussex RH17 6TH

The venue is located just off the M23 motorway, 36 miles south of London and 20 miles north of Brighton, not far from Gatwick Airport. There is a free car park on site. This is the room...

As you can see from the pictures, the room is spacious to allow space between stalls to make it as safe as possible.

I spoke to Tim and Jonathan from Weevils at an outdoor Toy Fair the other week. They are excited to revive plans that were taking shape for the event when the Covid pandemic struck. Their aim is to create a fun and interactive day, catering to established enthusiasts and to attract new people to the hobby. For this first event, there will be...

  • Local slot car clubs

  • Prizes donated by Scalextric

This is an outdoor view I took today of the Norfolk Pavilion, where the Swapmeet will take place in September. It’s a fabulous venue with a huge amount of free parking.

There was a Toy & Train fair behind the building this morning, plus a car boot sale and a bike and auto jumble both on the show ground site.

The canoe ride from Canada and the hotel/food/car expenses would supply me with a boat-load of slot car stuff.

But I can dream. Right?  Sun

Please take pics everyone!

I'll do the same if and when something takes place here in Toronto.

Thanks a million in advance,
Ken
