• Scalextric Scalextric released several new cars over the festive period, and Andy got his hands on a sample of the Mk1 Jaguar to review.

  • Jaguar MK2 – Police Edition It wasn’t just on the racetrack that the big Jaguar MK1 and MK2s excelled, it was also on the roads. Prized by crooks and bank robbers the MK2 Jaguar was so adept at making progress the police were forced to use them too to keep up!
  • Scalextric Jaguar Mk1 Review Andy takes a detailed look at The Scalextric model of the Mk1 Jaguar of Grant Williams, as it appeared at the 2021 Goodwood Revival.
  • Ford Escort Cosworth WRC Rod Birley The most successful club motorsport driver ever to compete in the UK, Rod Birley has amassed an incredible 700+ wins, many at the wheel of his powerful, and famous, black Escort WRC.
  • Porsche 911 Carrera, Wallys Jeans The Porsche 911 3.0 RSR is a car that has seen many great liveries applied to it over the years, and this Wally’s Jeans car is no exception. Raced at various German circuits throughout the mid-1970s this particular car was a front runner in the DRM series.

• MR Slotcar Porsche 911 GT1 Evo Canadian brand MR Slotcar has released three new liveries of the Porsche 911 GT1 Evo. Each model is a numbered edition of 550.
  • No.3 Martini A Martini & Rossi Tribute Livery.
  • No.76 Havoline The 2001 Daytona 24 Hours car, driven by Gunnar Jeannette, Wayne Jackson, Paul Newman and Mike Brockman.
  • No.17 Jagermeister A Jagermeister tribute livery.

• Carrera Porsche 911 RSR Safety Car Carrera have released the Porsche 911 RSR Safety Car. The model is 1/32 scale, it is digital, and is a limited edition of 1,999 units. Does that still count as a limited edition?

• SCX Releases Scx have released two new cars…
  • Lancia Delta Integrale The Totip liveried Lancia Delta Integrale was driven by Andrea Aghini & Sauro Farnocchia in the 1993 Monte Carlo Rally.
  • BMW M1 Bruno Giacomelli drove the Denim liveried BMW M1 in the inaugural season of the BMW M1 Procar Championship, which ran as a support category to the European rounds of the 1979 Formula One season.

Coming Soon

• Avant Slot Ferrari 308 GTB Originally slated for a December 23 release, one can only assume that the two new liveries of the Avant Slot Ferrari 308 GTB will be with us soon. The Martini car recreates a Historique Rally Tour De Corse 2011 car, and the Budweiser livery models a car driven by Paul Newman in the SCCA.

• Avant Slot Audi rally team set Avant Slot are due to release their Audi Sport rally collection imminently. The VW L45 van comes complete with a trailer, on top of which sits an Audi Quattro Sport. Available separately is the sister car. I think the cars represent those driven to third and fourth place By Hannu Mikkola and Walter Röhrl in the 1986 Monte Carlo Rally.
