„Nya Racerbanan“, my first scenic track
#41

Hi Carver,

I am happy to see you back here with an update of your track.
Every detail has been made in your own style.
That makes it very special.
The viking ship grave is a very nice idea.

Thanks guys!
I try to keep it up, but obviously in a very slow way!
Maybe I play around with the cars too much? Bigsmile
It is great fun to take odd track photos as well... Sun

Well… Some of my friends are not particularly interested in slot cars,
maybe a grave will cheer them up? Bigsmile

Caerver

SOme of your 'spectator' cars in the pics are interesting - eg the Maserati and Volvo in the Bridge pic - are they all operational slot cars?h the VW

How many are kits and how many are your own creation?

Love the 2 x 917s with the VW Pickup behind them - to pick up the pieces or because they were out qualified? Bigsmile Bigsmile Bigsmile Thumbup Thumbup

A few words about the car fleet, Anthony!
Beside some, very few, readymade high performance cars (like the NSR Porsches) and a bunch of vintage Revell and Monogram cars, almost all my cars are built from scratch, no kits. They are made up from wood with aditional materials.
What you se are all working slot cars.

The Volvos I’ve made so far (the police car is missing front bumper for the moment).

My two favourite Masers.

My Lotus collection, all to scale, so very small!

I think the VW is there just to make a better photo… Sun
Btw, the VW and the police car are sitting on ”chase car” leaning and steering chassis.
Great fun to drive!
Hope I got this right,no spell Czech on this device! Rofl

Are the banked turns Carrera banks or flat turns forced into bank via supports?

The first part of the s-curve is made up with a mix of track pieces. Starting from the top, two flat radius 2,then a flat 30˚ R1, then 3 banked pieces R1(surrounding the T-bird). Finally a R3 flat curve. They came together nicely without much force.

The curve at the end of the long straight is made up from 3 banked curves R2.

How deep the banked curve pieces are, does not really come across in my photos. The track would be much different to drive without them!
