Goodwood Revival Proxy - Car Builds
#11

Spent a few hours drawing up inserts & knock-offs then printing/painting/fitting them today.
The wheels aren't perfect but similar.
The knock-offs were fiddly little things but added to the overall look.

...shame about the side exhaust's being glued on the way they are, they've been like that for years now so it is what it is.

Standard narrow Revoslot tyres on ribless wheels (the wheels originally had ribs but I filed them off with the wheel in a dremel)...then cut about 2mm off the sides of the tyres.  I've not tried this on our track yet but should be fine with the low powered motors for this class.

...all it needs now is a driver/interior

My primary entry for the RoadRunners would be this Ferrari 250GTO, it has seen action in the 2022 IP and was re-worked for the 2023 IP but this was sadly abandoned in the US. But it will be made ready to race once again in this proxy.

My 2nd car was to be this SRC Capri with a 3d chassis fitted, I love the livery and it will be great to run this one in the Gerry Marshall Trophy event. Not started it as yet, but I have an unused Amato chassis I can find for it.

Looking at the projected entries, the Touring Cars looks like the most popular Event so far, so I am also thinking to finish an old project which I started a couple of years ago. This would be so I could change my entry to the Whitsun Cup Event should I feel this one needs more support.
It is a Ferrari 330P Policar white body kit which I modified the cockpit to make it a "Spyder David Piper colours" version. I was waiting for the RTR version from Policar to appear before I finished it, but having seen the one to be released advertised, I kinda think my "Spyder" version would be different and just as good.

Looking through the list and what I might have available to modify for the rules I remembered this:

Fly Porsche 908

3D chassis

SlotIt SW pod
NSR Ultras on the rear, hard rubber tyres on a pair of wheels I bought in a job lot a few years ago so don't know what rubber.
Resin 3DP driver
Resin 3DP rear suspension detail

Jobs to do:
Small guide
Predator 22k motor in place of the Shark 25 that's in it at the moment
Wheel inserts

Unfortunately this 908/03 is not included in the list as it raced later than 1968, so only the 908 is permitted.

My Jaguar XJ12C is now complete ( I painted it myself - yahoo) and has already undergone testing on our wooden track. It’s the usual brass and piano wire construction running NSR rear tyres, NSR Shark 21.5, Slotting + guide and Slot it 12/30 sidewinder gears.
