GT Sports Cars Slotting - Official Results & Reports

Wavegreen Good Morning,
again many thanks to Paul for running the round on his small Policar track, the photo shots of the cars were really great.
So we are next going to Goldrock's Scalextric Sport track, so the cars will have a different surface to content with, and that will be followed by a new venue just down the road, the Lumb Valley Carrera track Raceway of Mark B.

Updated schedule

unboxed the cars today
all look to be in good condition and ready to go !
have given  events 1 & 2 cars a quick blip to check everything is running well , all seemed good
will check events 3 & 4 tomorrow , will also qualify all 4 events and post the results
the race will be on Saturday afternoon , with guest driver Mark Brandwood
but in the mean time , a few pics of the event lineups here at Goldrock  Thumbup

good luck everyone

firstly an apology for missing these two cars in the original Event 4 lineup

finished the checks and trial runs  on all cars
the only thing found was ALS event 4 car had lost a front wheel grub screw ( replaced )
so Thumbup for build quality guys

Qualification :-
track voltage set at 10v
3 lap run

these times could be irrelevant because Mark will be doing the driving
these are the times that i achieved , and should give you some idea how your particular car will perform here at Goldrock
and i must say i am very impressed
( except for my own entries  Tappingfoot )
but in any case running order will be slowest to fastest for each event
good luck everyone

hi all
the 1st part of round 4 was completed today (20-4-24)
footage of each of the four events can be found here :- (361) Cube Racing GB - YouTube
bear in mind it may take a while for each video to upload

1st i would like to thank Mark Brandwood for doing all the driving
it was decided to set the the power at 12v , not my usual 10v , which was use for qualifying
the change of driver and track power shuffled the results and lap times quite a bit
Mark used his own Tru speed MT II controller and one of his own cars to familiarise himself with Goldrock prior to commencing the round
whilst yours truly did the videoing and marshalling

the extra power dramatically effected 2 cars in event 1, causing  wheelieing out of the slot under acceleration , namely , Roadrunners Pantera and Brumos M1 , which is reflected on their poor showing here

whilst Greenstar racings Porsche wiped out one of the track officials , who is now in intensive care Ambulance

on another note Harrisons Lola in event 2 , one of  its rear tyres is contacting the body , either the bushing has moved or the chassis is twisted , Mark intends to investigate before his round if it is ok with the entrant and race director

so onto the results Checkeredflag :-

event 1

event 2

event 3

event 4

the cars are now repacked and off to Marks Carrera track
Mark intends to run part 2 of round 4 mid week , hopefully work permitting i can attend

congrats to the podiumites
and huge thankyou to organizer Graham , driver Mark and to all who entered for letting me play with these fabulous cars  Thumbup

onto round 4 pt 2

Wavegreen Good afternoon,
Many thanks to the Burnley Team for running Round 4, the next Round will be at the Lumb Valley Carrera Raceway during next week.
Great video footage (including my flying De Tomaso) ......did I mention that it has wings, obviously thought that Kevin's track was a runway  Rofl

The SCOREBOARD is now updated and I will do my Pitlane Review later or tomorrow latest.

Pitlane Review Round 4
With the assistance of Mark B, Kevin gave us some interesting and varied results on his Scalextric Sport track. It is hoped that Kevin (work permitting) will also be able to participate in Round 5 at Marks Lumb Valley Carrera Raceway during next week.

Overall Results Rounds 1-4
Sports Cars (Group 5)
1st Place - Bangers Racing / Ferrari 512BB (70pts)
2nd Place - Le Manx / BMW M1 (61pts)
3rd Place - Savage GT / BMW M1 (36pts)
LeManx BMW M1 closed the gap a little on Bangers Racing Ferrari 512BB, whilst Roadrunners De Tomaso had a really bad case of "Porpoising" along the main straight, and has lost out to Savage GT BMW M1. Hopefully it is just a one off issue for the Roadrunners. Brumos BMW M1 had a similar issue and also lost momentum.

Interseries
1st Place - RoadRunners / Ford GT40 (63pts)
2nd Place -ALS Racing / Ferrari 412P (61pts)
3rd Place - Le Manx / Porsche 917K (53pts)
A good win on this track for ALS Racing, putting the Ferrari into contention for 1st Place.

Global GT
1st Place - ModSports / Ferrari 550 (63pts)
2nd Place - Bangers Racing / Honda NSX (54pts)
3rd Place - Harrisons Racers / Toyota Supra (51pts)
A reverse of fortune has put the Ferrari of ModSport once again on top. A surprise winning result this round by Scott Sports Marcos seemed to have upset the running order. Could the Marcos be on a charge, I guess its too early to tell.

British GT Championship
Joint 1st Place - Brumos / Ferrari 458 & Green Star Racing / Porsche 911 (70pts)
3rd Placed - Courtney Sport / AMG (35pts)
A good result for the Porsche 911 of Green Star Racing puts them back on top again with Brumos Ferrari 458.

Class A Constructed Cars
1st Place - ModSport / AM DB9 ( 62pts)
2nd Place - Ruscillo Racing / Merc CLKLM (49pts)
3rd Place - Savage GT / AMV ( 48pts)
ModSports DB9 regains the lead after Savage GT's AMV lost out on this Round. Ruscillo Racing's Merc managing to just nip into 2nd place.

Class B Constructed Cars
1st Place - ModSports / Ferrari 550 (63pts)
2nd Place - Bangers Racing / Honda NSX (51pts)
3rd Place - Harrisons Racers / Toyota Supra (50pts)
Similar result with all 3 cars contesting this class.

Class C Constructed Cars
1st Place - Green Star Racing / Porsche 911 (61pts)
2nd Place - Brumos RSR / Ferrari 458 (57pts)
3rd Place - LeManx / BMW M1 (41pts)
Green Star Racing Porsche 911 maintaining the lead but it is a close call between the leading cars in this class.

Teams
1st Place - ModSports (219pts)
2nd Place - Bangers Racing (210pts)
3rd Place - LeManx (178pts)
All 5 leading Teams are in with a chance for the Team results.

Wavegreen Good Morning

Schedule update

So next Round is on the home based Carrera track of Mark B below

In theory should be similar results to the Qualifying session I made on my own Carrera  track, but I very much doubt this will be the case as the track design is much faster looking and more similar to Kevin's Scalextric Goldrock design than mine.

It is also our "halfway house" track as we are moving more towards club based Rounds for the 2nd half of the series.
