I think most Home Insurance would cover items away from home
However, any policy excess would probably exceed the cars value?
Probably cost more to insure than their actual worth?

State side we would not want to claim this on a home as it will go as a zero claim as it would not meet the deductible but would be marked as a claim. Definitely a no no. A personal articles policy is possible but each car would need to be appraised. Not sure what the potential for payout would be for a car shipped to multiple destinations for racing purposes. We assume the risk, this is a first for me in 10 consecutive years of proxy racing. I don’t think anyone would want a box of slot cars unless they truly want a box of slot cars.

I sent two similar sized boxes to a customer in the USA, both full of 3D printed bodyshells, the customer paid me several hundred pounds so I had to make it difficult to go to the wrong address.
A carriers label is always much smaller than A4 so I printed an A4 sized label with the customers name, address, phone number and email in a large font in bold, stuck one on top and one on the side of the box, both completely covered in sellotape.
...it got there no problem, we should do the same or invite a repeat.
I think the “idiots” in this case are working for Manx Independent Carriers, and I am not convinced that if we plastered labels all over the box, that this company would not have sent it to the DPD Lost property office. I also feel that if we are not careful some old labels might be left on by mistake by the hosts as we have to send to 10 different recipients.
So I would stick with one externally visual label, although they can be printed larger than the default setting on the DPD ones sent. Actually the DHL labels I think are bigger and easier to read.
We will also include further details inside the box including my contact details in addition to a copy of the label placed outside.
And my tracker works really well showing the history of the route taken as well as the final destination.

we are already coming into the last couple of months of the year, so I thought I would approach the subject of the Autumn Proxy for next year once again.
Basically from the responses I have received the two most popular choices are below.
OPTION 1 - Classic Car Proxy
OPTION 2 - Classic Road Race Proxy
So I will ask Jason my IT expert to see if he can generate a google voting online system which participants can use to choose which one they prefer (ie Option 1 or 2)
I changed the "Event Programme" a little for OPTION 1 as I am expecting to have a simple set of technical rules which can be applied across the board.
For both Options
My intention would also be to have a simple set of Technical rules and Class Construction Rules ie there will only be Standard Class (with minimum upgrades allowed) and Class B (open class apart from fixed motor choice and possibly orientation) for each Event.

Two good options, one excites me more than the other.
Life is like a box of Slot cars...

We don't really need Google for that, you can add a poll here.
Just start a new thread, add the appropriate info and title, and click the button at the bottom where it says "I want to post a poll". Then, when you click on Post Thread, you're taken to a new page where you can add your poll options.

There are a few reasons why I wanted to make it a externally linked document, one is that it should be only open to those who currently enter the proxies, many of the entrants don’t necessarily use Slotracer online as they are often following the proxies on Facebook, and also I want the votes to remain anonymous until the results are collated at the end of the year (ie secret ballot)
So basically it is a vote and not a poll.

Well whatever you call it, and however you go about it, I think it's simple enough to not really need me to do it.
If you don't want to post a poll here, then check out google forms, it really is dead easy.
I'm more than happy to help wherever I think I have the skills, or knowledge to make a difference, or make something better. But no skill or knowledge is required here, anybody can do it.

I have put some meat on the requirements of the proxy choices for Autumn 24
In the end I decided to use the Goodwood theme for option1 as it gives more character to the event which I think is always important in making these proxies a little special

I will look at the google spreadsheets to see if can generate a simple questionnaire, I might expand it a little to get some additional feedback.
