Can’t wait to see OXO’s Ferrari 308 and Savage GT’s BMW M1. I picked up both and painted them silver so they may show up one day in a proxy.

Good Evening,Today I did something new and had a measured test run of the cars I received so far.
The cars were run on the Carrera Raceway track (Rally Tarmac Stage) and ran the cars just as they came over 3 single laps.
This the race format we will use for the actual event, with the best result (lap time) of the 3 runs. And it will be the same for my Rally track which is yet to be set up and run (fingers crossed)
So in no particular order, here are the ad hoc results and comments I felt during the test. But these tests were very basic run to check if there was any running issues with the cars which there was in a couple, so discussions with entrants taking place. And did not include any test runs where the cars deslotted.
I will do the another Test Run when more cars have been received

Good MorningI thought I would complete yesterday testing session with this table
My first thought was that looking at the results, just how good the Alfa Romeo could be in Event 1, shame that the motor kept cutting out on track for the other laps.
Hope we can get it repaired.
Also looks like Savage GT are in full Race mode from the start

Both of the Manx crews cars will be in the post by week end.
It's Slot Rally tonight, I want to give the Jag one last competitive event before seeing it back on the same Rally stages in May.

Good evening,I received another 12 cars today, so I think there will be another test day on Sunday.
Sadly one car arrived in 2 pieces (body separate from chassis) so that one is on its way back to the owner. I have returned 3 cars so far during this period, kinda hoping this is not going to be a trend
Also I will be testing for “excessive magnet attraction” and will post the results this time.

Good EveningThe 2nd day of testing brought up an unexpected and unwelcome surprise, once again I found one car with "Excessively high Magnetic Traction" from the motor. This time the motor in question was a Pirahna 25,000 rpm. Not one I would have expected, but it does throw into question whether I should introduce a "List of approved Motors" for future events....more on this later.
So here are todays Test Run 2
The previous Test 1 was run as one lap from a rolling start, today I repeated all the cars which have been received so far but conducted the test as from a standing start.
This I will use in the actual Proxy Series.
I have already informed Brumos RSR of the finding and we will decide an appropriate response. But having looked at the details of the motor on the web site there is absolutely no indication that this motor has a very high magnetic strength. Same as with the BRM 23,000 rpm motor last year.
So I will make an alteration in the rules for the Touring Cars Proxy along the lines of having an approved motor list.

How are you measuring 'magnetic traction'?
Before we had a way of measuring magnetic effect we used a straight length of Scaley track inclined at 45°, if your car didn't roll down it failed scrutineering.
Now we have a mag effect checker which is a simple cheap digital weigh scale with a board over the top with a cutout for a block with thick shim glued on top which sits level with the top of the board. After hitting 'tare' on the weigh scale sit the car over the block and the scale measures a minus figure in grams, we allow -25g which is what a normal SCX motor reading would give at about 1 to 1.5mm ride height.
