Good Morning
The Registration date has passed
And most of the entrants have survived the first hurdle....actually deciding which cars they are going to enter
And even a few have arrived and been scrutineered
Unfortunately Team Tatters have informed me that due to personal commitment's they are unable to complete their cars by the start date, however having paid their entrance fee they have generously donated it to the Proxy fund. I will however leave the door open for them to send their cars or a car in during the next 3 months if they wish to which would be accepted into any remaining Rounds, so they will remain on the entry list.
Review of entrants cars
Event 1 (Monte Carlo Pre66)
A great mixture of vintage cars are entered, some resin moulded and others ex Ninco Classics all with modified chassis, 3 with Brass & wire composition.
Event 2 (Rally B 83-87)
Another field of typical cars of the period, no less than 4 Audi Quattro's of varying construction.
Event 3 (Legend Rally Cars 66-96)
If Event 2 is a Audi Event, then surely this is a Porsche 914/6 & TR7 Event
5 Porsche's and 3 TR7's
After seeing how many entrants were entering the Event 2, I switched my choice to this event with a Fiat 131 Abarth, a car I have for a long time wanted to build, and was until the arrival of the SRC Porsche 914/6 quite a well favoured car in Rally events. So it will be interesting to see how my car runs in the field against the formidable field.
Event 4 (Modern WRC's)
This is in the main a battle of the Ninco's Event, actually 9 of the 12 entered cars and 5 of those Subaru's. Only 2 of the Ninco's were categorised as Class A cars with NC2 motors, the other 7 were categorised as Class B cars as they are based on NC5 motors. The entrants were informed of this decision, generally the NC5 motor is a higher performance motor (much higher torque rating) in relation to Rally events than the lower spec motors. My own club runs a Rally class series and does not permit NC5 motorised Ninco's as the years of experience has demonstrated that the higher torque motors have a distinct advantage in the" Rally track" type series.
