Well I for one was very pleased with the amendment, by banning brass/wire you are stopping scratchbuilders from entering (unless of course they have the money for a 3D printer.)
I had actually started on my car (having been ultra late for the current proxy I decided to make amends by building my car very early), so now my Volvo Amazon will no longer be entered.
I can see nothing wrong in allowing us old skool brass & pianowire builders to enter, it was only one class for f**ks sake.

We get round these problems by classifying non-plastic chassis cars as 'Open Class', any plastic chassis with a pod as 'Pro-Stock' and all the one-piece unpodded chassis cars as 'Standard Class'. Of course we still have the different eras but each era has these three sub-classes.
...we don't have problems with class domination and include everyone as there's a class for all.

Kevan, we need to see you participate in said proxy. I love your posts, your knowledge and you’re the #1 spectator of proxies around the world. It’s time to compete my virtual Friend.

And it will still be up to the host as to if he feels that these cars pose a potential "electric shorting" risk on their individual Rally Stage, so these cars could be potentially withdrawn if they do so. I have amended the rules above.
I'm not sure that's a good idea Grah, as we've seen in other proxies brass and wire chassis can dominate small car classes which doesn't go down well with previous years entrants.

Aren't you contradicting yourself here?
After all you started this by saying that it was a bad idea to include brass/pw chassis in one class, then you say that you allow them in one class.
Where is the difference, or are you arguing just for the sake of it?

That’s quite a good idea, as we are already running Class A - Standard cars, B - Modified class, Class C -ProCars, so we could have Class D - Metal chassis cars (B&W). We don’t allow ProCars in Event 1. So you have Class A, B & Class D cars in Event 1

Not contradicting myself, we only allow metal chassis in their own class as they tend to dominate over the non metal chassis.

OK, Guys
I started this little disagreement, but thanks to Kevin I have found a solution
I have amended the rules and introduced Class D for Brass & Wire models.
Therefore with the limitations in track clearance to 2mm minimum.
These cars can be included in Classic Monte Carlo (Event 1) only
So we have
Class A - Standard cars
Class B - Modified cars
Class D - Metal chassis
Class C - ProCars are not allowed in Event 1 or 4
So makem can still win the modified Class B

without competing directly with Class D -Brass & wire chassis cars.

i must say its getting a bit confusing
4x events
10x cars per event
4x classes per event
aren't we diluting the field a bit here ? we are going to be racing our selves 'only' before too long

?
'you cant please all the people all the time' ... comes to mind
i much prefer the original 4x class , 10 car per class scenario , with a single rule set for each class , but if thats how it is to be , c'est la vie

I just love watching Slot cars in action (hard body cars that is, the vacform blob missiles I find boring).
There's going to be at least two from our club in this proxy and our two tracks are the final stages in the proxy.

You over thinking this now

The Rounds will be run and recorded in much the same manner as we do now.
At the end of the series there will be just 4 Event winners from the eligible classes.
I will clarify how the Class winners system will work on the main posting at the start latter this morning.
