Good luck with your kitchen. We've just had a new bathroom and 'cloakroom'. A back to bare brick refit. Looks great but we've decided we need a break from the upheaval before going for the hat trick and tackling the kitchen/utility!
Yes I don’t blame you on that account, the kitchen renewal is even more expensive than I imagined due to eating out all the time ? I would have settled for pot noodles but the boss says not .. so we eat out .. which saves washing up in the bath and the milk going off all the time . ? anyway fingers crossed it’s only a week to endure .
Well at long last I can give you the results you have all been waiting for, a few hitches came along , we changed venue to Dave Maddock’s house which is overlooking Colwyn Bay so a great view if we had the time to enjoy it yesterday ..
A big shout out to Dave as he is the proud owner of the brown spotted ninco raid rare track, and he gave his track and house plus his time to ensure the event was completed. This was my first encounter with the ninco raid too, as you have seen it’s a flowing track and had a technical aspect which made it challenging to drive. We did put the nobbles on the track as you can make out.
I believed that as it was designed for ninco cars it would be breeze for them …????? unfortunately it was challenging for them , but a breeze for the Scx and the pro class ( well some of them) .
First the boxing and packaging from Graham was superb excellent ?.
The cars all looked great and even the same model make all acted differently so it was a box of chocolates for sure. A big thanks to all the entrants for entering and allowing us to drive them to the limit.
As it was a Ninco track we elected to go with Ninco first, Dave drove this class as I was entered in ninco and Scx and I would drive 3&4 class.
There was a lot of offs so marshalling was a busy occupation, the cars which behaved the best were soft sprung .. either suspension or tyres had an advantage. ( memo to self get soft tyres).
Dave was pushing the class to get a clean round and did an excellent job in getting the best out of the class.
( braid cleaning and adjusting before the run was necessary in most cases ) we went for 2x 8 laps so 16 in total in two runs. The two runs were then added together for position and any ties were sorted by the fastest lap )
So on to the SCX which were by far the better vehicle on the track and Dave had a blast of putting them through there paces. Unfortunately team OXO cube had a DNF as the car had a gear rubbing against the bodywork and to push further would damage the vehicle. Sorry Kev .
Team Savage also had an issue which prohibited it from a second run. Other than them James had a smooth run and took top honours but most impressive were the yellow Peugeot of team Hotlap just missing out on the top step.
Class 3 was the Pro RTR class a nice class and some great cars , unfortunately the avant lancer cars struggled on track but the scalar to and Hummer were superb on the track and a delight to drive.
Well done the Hummer which was so consistent and predictable on the track/ bumps .

So onto the last class at the end of a long day . The open .
We had two DNF s the Ford transit just did not want to stay in the slot and the Datsun truck had the same issues not sure what the issues were but impossible to run. The Odyssey was superb on the track and a real joy the Citroen was different and was fun to drive the Palermo was steady but did not have the pace of the Rosberg machine.
