Replacement for NC-1 motor
#11

The short motor shafts of the Typhoon motors look like intended for sidewinder installation.

Unfortunately shaft of the Typhoon is just too short.
I’ll contact Pendle and see what the recommendation is.
Thanks all

So far have replaced axles/wheels/tyres/gear etc but I am now looking to replace the motor. I believe the original to be an NC-1 (it doesn’t actually state what it is) and I’m wondering if there is a straight replacement I could purchase? The motor pod looks to be removable with 2 screw so happy to replace this, just need a bit of guidance really.
It’s for a home track, not huge so doesn’t have to be a high torque motor but open to suggestions..

All I can say is ditch the NC1 motors, they have been hard to obtain since 2009 and even became harder in 2014. I am certainly not a fan of Ninco period... too hard to get, too expensive to buy, just a shit product from the 50's that people refuse to accept and come into the daylight and the 21st century.

Utter garbage, when my motors and cars die that's it for me and the Ninco class they can finally RIP

And I can still sell you a BWA NC-1 replacement motor which are 14.5k rpm with a dual shaft ie extending from each end.

Al Penrose, or BWA as Munter pointed out sells a 14k replacement for the Ninco called a BWNC-1 that is much better than the original NC-1 Ninco made.

They are still available today at around $6 Canadian funds. It's considered a current motor still on the market for reliable, slow class cars.

I have about 20-cars with these motors. Running at 12-volts, they simply will not die. I also keep an inventory for future builds. (The larger motors on the left)

Does anyone know if Al Penrose / BWA or someone else is still selling BWA NC1 motors? Munter you mentioned him still having 3,000 but I can no longer find any for sale.

Al has not been active over 8-months on another forum that he used to frequent. I hope he's doing okay and won the lottery or something.
