short to long....motor
#1

I have an old Ninco Opel Calibra with a very tired motor, it has a short can mabuchi type  (i think) and I have a new unused nc-2 motor (long) is there an easy way to make this fit ? I tried turning the motor cradle to see if it would take the long motor but didn`t work,  Or should I wait and fit the Scaleauto motor I have just ordered for another car ?

I don't know whether Ninco made long can motor mounts but it's possible to modify the S-can mount with a dremel.

Probably not easy to find now, but Ninco made two types of motor mount to upgrade from the NC1. One takes the NC2/5 style long can and the other is for the SCX RX can.

Thanks for the info,  Kevan....I don`t suppose you have a photo of the inside that would show me what to remove to make it fit ?

Mr.M...I will watch out for one but I like kevans idea....

I can’t see what would hold the motor at the end bell ? Presumably I would remove the bit where screwdriver is resting in photo and the snap fit bit ?

First off it's an endbell...bell ends are are what you shake the drips out of after a pee!

Secondly, there's still going to be enough plastic to support the screw mount at the front end of the mount

...and glue will hold the motor securely which is preferable anyway as Ninco motor mounts are renowned for not holding motors securely - hence 'Ninco hop'

Charlie,
Send me an IM here on Slot Racer, I do a 3DP Ninco boxer pod that drops into the Ninco chassis.

Cheers
