Extreme Slotting 2022

So winners and losers for ever onwards .. the box is packed and I am awaiting the DHL person to collect.
Unfortunately no video due to time and only two persons running the event just didn’t allow any video or to be honest any pictures.

I had initially wanted to run the event at The club NWSCC in Denbigh where we would have had extra help, but we had to change to Dave’s house.

In the future especially for the rally run event it will be held on the wooden tracks were with more helpers video streaming will be possible but that may also come with a slight financial implication.
Thanks to Graham and all the entered teams .

Wavegreen Good Morning,

well some very unexpected results from the Welsh Coast, but here is the overall positions at Round 7

Another busy week looming as my holiday gets nearer, so I decided to do the review today

Raid Cars De-briefing

Class R1 (Ninco)
1st Place - Andy P - BMW X5
2nd place - Mike S - Nemesis
3rd Place - Gpa113 - VW Touareg
On the face of it looks like Andy's BMW has the advantage going into the last Round, but 2nd and third place cars are still near enough to take the win. Paul's Montero has probably taken too many offs this time, to get the class win.

Class R2 ( SCX)
1st Place - James A - Mitsubishi Montero
2nd Place - Paul C - VW Touareg
3rd Place - Andy P - Thunderflash
This class has somewhat closed up since the last round, and now with James Montero on top for the first time in the series, it will be a nail biting end to the series.
But any of these top 3 cars could steal the Class win.

Class R3 ( Procars)
1st Place -Roadrunners- Porsche 959
2nd Place- Hotlap - Mitsubishi Lancer
Joint 3rd Place - Makem - Mitsubishi Lancer & James A - Porsche 959
Roadrunners Porsche looks like it will be difficult to beat in this class, great to see the HUmmer doing better in the latter Rounds of the series.

Class R4 (Open)
1st Place - Roadrunners - Odyssey 21
2nd Place - AA Recovery- Transit
3rd Place - Savage GT - Mitsubishi Pajero
Looks like it maybe a clear win next week for the Roadrunners Odyssey, but what happened to the Transit Van  Cussing  Looks like the AA Recovery Van will need some help from the Harlequin Garage to get rolling again. Hopefully I get a chance to resolve the problem before the last Round.

Well that is all folks from the De-briefing sessions, next week I will set up the Ninco Track to run the final  "Harlequin X" Round 8.
And then the vehicles wil be returning home next week.

Many thanks to Paul for organising the Round 7 during his busy schedule, although perhaps he could have run it in the "Kitchen" around all the obstacles  Rofl

For classes 1-3, what does the number in column T3 represent and why isn't there an equivalent number for class 4 please?

I can probably answer this for Paul,
Classes 1-3 the T3 represents "Fastest lap", which may have been necessary to use, should there have been a tie for position.

In Class 4  due to racing fatigue, Paul probably forgot to record fastest lap, but it probably would not have been as critical anyway compared to the closer Classes 1-3

Thanks. So of all in classes 1-3 the Hummer did the fastest lap. At last!  Thumbup

Hi
With regards to why one car did not get a fast lap recorded , this was the 2cv which was a brass chassis and had solid tyres which caused havoc with the timing sensors (vibration) so we had to resort to a stop watch method to record a time but unfortunately we could not record fastest lap at the same time.??

Wavegreen Good afternoon,

I little slow to get going, had a transformer issue which appeared to not want to convert AC to DC, cars were not going forward or backwards, kind of doing a shuffle on track on the same spot  Bigsmile However luckily I had acquired a spare Ninco transformer during the last year.

So The layout is very similar to last years "crossing from one side of the Harlequin Raceway" to the other in a boomerang shape.
I have attached the photos below, there will be no video as I am on my own and also the shape would make this very difficult to do unless someone was able to pan across the room from one side to the other which would probably not make good viewing anyway.

Start line

Steep bumpy hill

Rough Road section

End loop around the rear Harlequin Bend

The other loop around the Hillclimb start

So I am about to run the Ninco Class and will post the results as we go. Maybe get through them all this afternoon but if not I will carry on tomorrow morning.

So good luck to all the entrants on this final Round of the Extreme Slotting 2022

Maybe a last hoorah? - but too late.

The first round did for it, running with the drop arm pivot out at one side. Ambulance
