Andy, Brian, Ed, Mike & Myself were in action from 9.30am and finally got finished and locked up by about 5pm.
It was a long, hot, energy sapping day but hugely enjoyed it all.
The track was vacuumed clean then all the cars were placed in twos in race order then each car had braids cleaned (and in quite a few cases straightened) and all tyres were cleaned in readiness.
Mike was in charge of video, Brian was in charge of calling out the heats and writing results 'just in case' the computer crashed, Ed was on permanent marshal duty in his best position by the track whilst Andy drove all the cars in the middle (Yellow) lane and I drove all the cars in the outer (Blue) lane racing two car heats then swapping cars round. After each cars first of two races the tyres were cleaned for the second of two races.
We stopped half way for dinner, goodies were kindly brought in by the guys then we we sat and chatted before commencing the racing. We couldn't hang around as Andy was off to see The Merchant of Venice at 6pm.

There were problems with some cars:
- the most concerning of which is Brumos RSR BMW 2.8 The gearmesh sounds awful yet there isn't an excess of backlash BUT the car left a trail of aluminium dust all round the track that we called the 'silver dust of death' as it coats the tyres and reduces grip. It's second race was gingerly finished but this car isn't going to finish the proxy without work. We had to run cars of our own round for a few laps to clean up the silver dust before the next proxy heat.
- Green Star Racing BMW M4 - the car refused to roll freely and flew round left handers but felt like the handbrake was on in right handers. After it's first race we stopped the racing to check the car over. Ideally we would have taken the bodyshell off but that would change the drivers preferred body mounting settings so we left the bodyshell on. I removed the wheel next to the spur gear and it helped greatly so put the wheel back on with a little more of a gap but it's still not what I'd call race-ready as it's still a little grabby and spoiling the cars flow.
- Hotlap Opel Calibra - during it's first race Andy said it's behaving very oddly, after inspection the rear axle had shifted over a good 2mm, it was found that the crown gear grub screw wasn't tight. Axle re-centred and finished it's second race.
- Harrisons Racers BMW 320i - threw a wheel part way through a race, this was glued back on and we commenced racing.
- Lifeboats Racing Ford Galaxie - one rear tyre kept rubbing the wheelarch, we stopped at least once to try to move the body over just enough to race the car. This was done without changing anything other than sliding it over as there was a little play. A dab of superglue held it in place to finish.
