EXTREME SLOTTING RALLY-RAID ROUND 6 - THE SEND SCRAMBLE.
ALL VEHICLES WERE GIVEN 4 LAPS WARM UP, WITH 2 EXTRA RUNS OVER THE OBSTACLES IF NEEDED TO GET THEM SET UP AS WELL AS I COULD.
THIS GAVE ME TIME TO ADJUST TO EACH ENTRY, AND WHAT A VARIED SELECTION!
ENTRIES RAN IN THE ORDER THEY APPEAR ON THE ENTRY SHEET. 2 LAPS PRACTICE, THEN STRAIGHT INTO 5 TIMED LAPS.
CLASS R1 - NINCO
I really enjoyed these. Quick across the flat, they belted up the steep incline, taking all the tight turns easily. A very varied approach to obstacles, ranging from great to not so, but little braking on the downhill runs meant a cautious approach here.
Incredibly close at the top, my own VW Touareg winning by 0.35 s from the Nemesis Bowler of Mike S.
The VW wasn't as quick, but likes tight turns and cleared the obstacles easily. One extra de slot on the bumps cost the Bowler the class win.
Six seconds back in 3rd was the BMW of Andy P. Likes to tackle the bumps at speed, a great entry.
4th to 7th were covered by just 7 seconds, so tightly bunched, with the Mitsubishi of Paul C really not liking the placement of the obstacles, and failing to clear section 5 on any of the laps.
Great fun, very evenly matched, and they look cool. They had plenty of speed at the top of the climb, with the Stadium section really sorting them out.
