Ridiculous isn't it? 

A similar sized parcel can get from Vicksburg, Missouri to Chesterfield, Derbyshire - 4,208 miles - in seven days, including negotiating UK customs - but after five days - and still counting - Royal Mail has yet to get a First Class parcel 36 miles from Chesterfield to Radcliffe-on-Trent. 

I suppose it does have to negotiate the Derbyshire/Nottingham border though!
