GT Sports Cars Slotting - Official Results & Reports

And finally we have Round 8 Event 4 results

The Porsche 911 of Green Star Racing again on top with a fastest lap time than on the qualifying session, a little more prone to de-slot than the Ferrari 458 of Brumos RSR, but without der-slotting seems the faster car here.
Also significantly faster this time around, the Ferrari 458 of Brumos RSR made it into 2nd position, the rattling noise in the end was found to be an interior part in the cockpit and not loose ballast.
Courtney Sports AMG again slightly faster then qualy session but not as much, made 3rd.
Savage GT's AMV was a even bigger improvement than the others, making it into 4th.
ALS Racings Corvette ran similar times as before, runs well but seemed to lack a little power.
ModSports Aston Martin DB9, similar time as before, issue is that the front valance scraped along the contact rails, I can't remember if this was an issue previously, but certainly would have slowed the car on this track ?
Also a big improvement on lap time for the Aston Martin DB9 of Team Cube & BMW Z4 of Scott Sports (although de-slots were an issue)
BatManx porsche 911 lap time was a little slower this time, although it ran well and was quite stable.

Pitlane Review Rounds 1-8
An unexpected return to my own home track  (Harlequin Raceway)
Very much enjoyed running the cars again as a points scoring Round. Most interesting to compare the "fastest" lap times between then (qualy)and now, some cars seemed to be struggling whilst others performance has definitely improved.

Sports Cars (Group 5)
1st Place - LeManx / BMW M1 (127pts)
2nd Place - Bangers Racing / Ferrari 512BB (126pts)
3rd Place - RoadRunners / De Tomaso (80pts)
Just one point between LeManx and Bangers racing cars and RoadRunners on their heels.

InterSeries
1st Place - RoadRunners / Ford GT40 (133pts)
2nd Place - LeManx / Porsche 917k (116pts)
3rd Place - ALS Racing / Ferrari 412P (106pts)
RoadRunners still ahead but LeManx close behind, ALS Racing looks secure for 3rd place.

Global GT
Joint 1st Place - ModSports / Ferrari 550 & Bangers Racing / Honda NSX (120pts)
3rd Place - Harrisons Racers / Toyota Supra (98pts)
As for event 1, this looks like going down to the wire with the top 2 cars running neck and neck. The rest of the field drifting away from the front runners.

British GT Sports Cars
Another joint 1st Place - Brumos RSR / Ferrari 458 & Green Star Racing / Porsche 911 (140pts)
3rd Place - Courtney Sport / AMG (64pts)
Closest proxy competition to date I think, a strong possibility that this event might finish as it started.
Courtney Sport / AMG back into 3rd place, but ModSports Aston Martin DB9 & Savage GT / AMV not far away.

Construction Class A Cars
1st Place - Team Cube / Ferrari 355 (116pts)
2nd Place - ModSports / Aston Martin DB9 (110pts)
3rd Place -Savage GT / AMV (98pts)
All these 3 cars in close contention for class A

Construction Class B Cars
1st Place - Bangers Racing / Honda NSX (117pts)
2nd Place - ModSports / Ferrari 550 (114pts)
3rd Place -Harrisons Racers / Toyota Supra (98pts)
Any of these top 3 cars looking close enough to take the construction award.

Construction Class C Cars
1st Place - Green Star Racing / Porsche 911 (118pts)
2nd Place - Brumos RSR / Ferrari 458 (115pts)
3rd Place - Le Manx / BMW M1 (81pts)
looks like a straight fight between Green Star Racing and Brumos RSR for this construction award

Teams
1st Place - Bangers Racing (429pts)
2nd Place - ModSports (403pts)
3rd Place - LeManx (379pts)
Still very between these 3 for the Team Award.

Wavegreen Good Morning

Well if ever there was a "Cliff Hanger" then we certainly have one for this proxy, most of the Events, Classes and Best Team categories are undecided as yet and we are onto the last two Rounds  Sun

It has long been an aim of mine since starting these proxies to maintain the competitiveness right up until the end of a series, and it looks like I have eventually reached this goal  Bigsmile

So we are next onto the NSSRC, I will be taking the cars there myself and assist with the organising and marshalling.

Global GT Round 8 Video

OK, the Event 4 video will be posted tomorrow morning as I am off to my local club shortly.

As you can see the track is quite compact and challenging, so not any room for marshals etc.
I like the Carrera track it is very robust in the shed at the bottom of the garden, I have thought about replacing it with the new Scaleauto (should it ever become stocked by Pendle ?) as it is about the same width, but I am not sure it would give me anything of benefit over what I have for home use. I did consider that having the "inner sharp corners"  available might enable me to fit in another stretch of track, but it is probably long enough as it is  Sun
