GT Sports Cars Slotting - Official Results & Reports

(28th-May-24, 05:40 PM)Kevan Wrote:  Nice one Colin.
Are you on this forum by any chance?

He's just recently finished a GT Sports Proxy of his own on this track but for Scaley cars with spec motors...I like that idea!

He's also run an Edwardian Racers Proxy on it too with George Turner Edwardian Racers cars.

I regularly enter into Colins Proxy races, very even across the board with little alteration to box standard cars.

Anyone want a slightly used Edwardian Racer.

Next one he proposes is American Muscle Cars, Scaley or Pioneer.

Event 4 results now revised to include Batmanx's Porsche and Scott Sports Z4.  No change to the podium.

I notice on the comments about Ed's (Batmanx) Porsche you said grip was surprisingly good, they're SlotIt tyres as he went against Andy's and my better judgement and I said they'd probably work better on some of the plastic tracks...no doubt that'll put (another) wry smile on his face Bigsmile

Life is like a box of Slot cars... Cool Drinkingcheers

Yes, we pretty much exclusively use slot it G25 tyres here. They work very well on the Policar surface

Unless I'm very much mistaken, I think that's what the G25 compound was optimised to work on.

I love puttering with gears

Wavegreen Good afternoon

Pitlane Review (Rounds 1-7)
many thanks to Ade for updating the Round 7 results, there was of course some unexpected results at the Viking Club as well as more expected ones....perhaps.
It was the last plastic track in the series, the remaining 3 being club wooden routed tracks.

Sports Cars (Group 5)
1st Place - LeManx / BMW M1 (112pts)
2nd Place - Bangers Racing / Ferrari 512BB (106pts)
3rd Place - RoadRunners - De Tomaso (69 pts)
Well we still have battles for 1st & 2nd and 3rd & 4th!
A great run by Bangers Racing Ferrari and a slightly underperformed LeManx BMW M1 has closed the gap between the two, and similarly a great run for RoadRunners De Tomaso puts them back into 3rd position.

InterSeries
1st Place - RoadRunners / Ford GT40 (113pts)
2nd Place - LeManx / Porsche 917K (101pts)
3rd Place - ALS Racing / Ferrari 412P (95pts)
Not much between the top 3, anything can and probably will happen, but still quite chuffed the RoadRunners GT40 still hanging on at the moment  Yes

Global GT
1st Place - ModSports / Ferrari 550 (109pts)
2nd Place - Bangers Racing / Honda NSX (100pts)
3rd Place - Harrisons Racers / Toyota Supra (83 pts)
Again a significant closing of the gap between the 1st and 2nd positions, the Honda of Bangers Racing is back on the heels of the Ferrari of ModSports.

British GT Sports Cars
1st Place - Brumos RSR / Ferrari 458 (125pts)
2nd Place - Green Star Racing / Porsche 911 (120pts)
3rd Place - ModSports / Aston Martin DB9 (54pts)
Very similar situation as the Event 1, with the contenders for 1st & 2nd, 3rd & 4th too close to call.
But I was very surprised that the win here went to Brumos Ferrari, I would have put money on a home win for Green Star Racing's Porsche!
Perhaps a defining moment in this very closely fault battle.

Construction Class A Cars
1st Place - Team Cube / Ferrari 355 (101pts)
2nd Place - ModSports / Aston Martin DB9 (99pts)
3rd Place - Savage GT / AMV (70pts)
All change in this class with Team Cube taking over the lead from ModSports, perhaps a late run by Savage GT also.

Construction Class B Cars
1st Place - ModSports / Ferrari 550 (106pts)
2nd Place - Bangers Racing / Honda NSX (97pts)
3rd Place - Harrisons Racers / Toyota Supra (78pts)
A significant closing up by the Honda of Bangers Racing on ModSports Ferrari.

Construction Class C Cars
1st Place - Brumos RSR / Ferrari 458 (100pts)
2nd Place - Green Star Racing / Porsche 911 (98pts)
3rd Place - LeManx / BMW M1 (75pts)
Another change at the top with Brumos taking over the Class position from Green Star Racing.

Teams
1st Place - ModSports (368pts)
2nd Place - Bangers Racing (361pts)
3rd Place - Le Manx 338pts)
Bangers Racing back on form for this Round means that they are really close to ModSports.

Round 7 Fastest Laps

Additional Note
Ade (Viking SCC) mistakenly thought they had run all the cars in Event 4, and that 2 cars missing from the Record Sheets had been withdrawn before they received the cars. Woodland Fort were contacted to see if they had removed the cars, which they hadn't.
On return from his holiday Ade found the two cars was in the last layer of the box used to transport the cars which he had not noticed. So the two cars had to be run later than the earlier Round.

Can we please make it known that the 2 missing cars were actually at Viking all the time.

No fault at all on the part of Woodland Fort

Ade has given his apologise for missing the 5th layer of cars in the box, he thought they had been withdrawn from the competition. And I have apologised to the hosts at the Woodland Fort club accordingly for believing the cars had been left out the box by them.

Generally speaking to all hosts I would say please "don't make assumptions" if something similar happens contact me first. If the cars are still listed on the record sheets I issue, then they should still be in the box. If any cars were to be withdrawn I would blank them off the record sheets which I issue before each Round.

Sadly the Culverstone club are not now able to run the next round as we hoped, due to other commitments.
So I will look to run the 8th Round on my Carrera home based track.
