Well the box of cars is back on the mainland and currently sitting at the “Manx Independent Carriers” depot in Lancashire. In spite of my attempts there seems no way to circumvent this sub contractor    Banghead

We just have to hope they don’t meddle with the labels again.

However since my earlier posting they have been transferred to the local DHL Depot.

The small labels they use won't hide our labels...I purposely made them A4 and put two on...

It could have been worse.  Graham originally (accidentally) placed an order with DPD...cancelled it...and placed another order with DHL

...as expected, the DPD guy turned up despite the order being cancelled...thankfully the DHL guy came in a few hours earlier and I checked first to make sure he was DHL before letting him take the box.

The car box has remained at the DHL Depot today at Runcorn, although the DHL customer services department still don't know that its actually there... but I do.

So my expectation is that they will transfer the cars on Monday to the local Depot nearest to the the host, and then deliver them on Monday.

Which all means that the scheduled run over the weekend will not be able to take place. However I been able to keep Phil F at Wye Valley advised and he is looking at running it later next week if he can.

I’m sorry, but this type of stress is not needed.  Graham, you fixed the issue with the tracking device.  Genius BTW and Kevan is using a different shipping company… give it time not stress, this is why I’m down to 1 entry going forward, the stress. Keep us informed yes, holy smokes. On a side note, the one car will be better prepared so Kevan can take a break from maintenance.

The tracking device told me that actually both the shipping companies DPD & DHL use the same sub contactor (Manx Indep Carriers) to send the cars to and from the Island, so in fact it seems there is no escaping that  Angry  So I guess the cargo ship is run exclusively by them, some kind of local Mafia arrangement.
But I do see that DHL are working better to manage the movement, even if the stated delivery time is somewhat more variable as a result of having to use the intermediary company. And I did get a little compensation from DHL for the delay.

However we have spread out the Rounds for this proxy, which gives us some scope for keeping the schedule on track, even if we miss the target date by a few days.
