Just to put those lap times into perspective and bearing in mind these cars are motor limited and have a fairly high ground clearance:
A quick time round our track for GT Sports is 6.0 seconds, most of our club members have never driven any car round this track that quick and compares favourably to our NSR Mosler 'Club Challenge' cars which are standard 21k anglewinder Moslers with glued & trued 12mm wide kit untreated tyres and no ballast or mods of any sort with the track set at 11v. These same cars are only marginally quicker at 13.8v but much easier to drive hard at 11v with far fewer deslots as the front end doesn't tend to lift under hard acceleration (as there's no ballast at all in these).
The tuned F1's and tuned GT Sports regularly get round this track in the 5.5 to 5.7 sec bracket but Andy & myself are the only ones to do so...and that's with the track at 13.8v not the 12v the track was set at for this proxy.
So there's some seriously competitive cars in this proxy and we drove them as fast as we dared, and as you'd expect, a few times this was beyond the cars capability. We both thoroughly enjoyed driving all the cars and it was over all too soon.

Thanks for trying to get the Aston to run, I propose if it continues to show the same issues at the next round to retire the car so as not to delay future hosts unnecessarily.

Thanks to Kevan and the Manx team for running the round and getting the Porsche to the top step! Very pleased with that!
Wasn't expecting much from the BMW 320 so no surprises there; it's my back-up car for our clubs Group-5 rounds and as such is fairly stock and quite neglected aside from a quick service prior to being sent out (the lovely prepped glued/trued NSR's that I had intended to run on the beemer weren't size compliant so had to be changed last minute to the only wheels I had that had suitable inserts). Plus, entering a 320 in a field of M1's is a little like bringing a knife to a gun fight. Still, happy it's lapping and doing it's thing

The main problems seen were guide braid problems, even though they were all cleaned beforehand a few cars needed the braid tweaking, one we tried pushing the braid to shorten it which makes it a little thicker and it ran fine.
I did like the Aston Vantage, it's 2mm wider than the DB9 so I may look at getting one.

I called it the Scorcher...it's going to be the car to try to keep up with!
I'll have you know the BMW 320 is every bit as good as the M1, probably the best of the Racer Gr.5's
On Thursday we raced Gr.5's and Geoff's standard 320 beat my standard M1...OK I jump started and lost a lap and nearly had him on the last race after lapping him but he won...just...and has done for the last three rounds of Gr.5 racing.
Geoff's 320 get's round in 6.1 and I managed to thrash a 6.0 out of my M1 so the 320 is every bit as competitive.
We have a set of 320i's as a club Gr.5 class, fitted with SlotIt SW pod and NSR Shark 25's and get round our track in 6.3 seconds
