One car nailed...the other one has a lexan interior and a strange shaped driver who resembles Mr Blobby. It rather spoils the package, so just need to get that sorted and then I'm good to go!

I would ask that you get the cars sent as soon after the 1st February as you can please, as that will give me time to scrutineer the car before we start or to send back for alterations should there any issues. I am aiming for Zero penalties on this proxy.

The front tyres on one of my cars was 1.4mm smaller in diameter than the rears so built them up with superglue and bicarb powder then ground them back to within 1mm diameter of the rears.

After final gearing changes on one car and testing last night at the club, I'm finally happy with both cars and just need inserts for the wheels.

Well my De Tomaso Gr5  is about ready for action, just a little work on those front tyres etc to do. But it looks great with those Staffs wheels on.
The 3d Chassis is a little flimsy, would have preferred a more rigid one.

Looks like there's room to space those front wheels out nearly 1mm per side which will improve handling.

I tested the Ferrari Can Am car over the weekend, and decided that with the resin body and the limited motor rpm permitted that it was not going to be particularly competitive, The overall weight was 95gms. With a higher spec motor it runs much better.

So looking around for alternatives I searched the shelves for something else, and dusted off these 2 Ford GT40's the Gold one is a NSR the other Red one is a Slot it.
The problem with the NSR is that it has the old type chassis without front axle adjustment, So it appears to be less stable then the slot it. After some time working on the Slot it Ford GT40 at 75gms it started to perform rather well (it least better than I remember it running some years ago). I have ordered a new NSR chassis for the other GT40 MKII and will decide finally which one to use by the registration date.

But I will be now entering a GT40 as my 2nd car in Event 2 (interseries)

We have a set of slotit GT40s as club cars, they're bashed and bruised and must be 7 years old, crashed by the inexperienced, thrashed by the racers but still go great with that SW setup and ballast.
NSR versions on the other hand don't seem as easy to get race ready.

So am I, the car runs well with a 25krpm sidewinder short can motor as I tried it recently at my club, but just too slow with a 22k motor. Maybe if I changed it to an anglewinder with a long can motor it might have worked better ? But I am also a little concerned about the likelyhood of loosing the raised rear mirror which would be difficult to replace. At least when I user it in "live" club racing I can retrieve it and glue it back on.

So I decided to go with the Alan Mann Ford GT & the Giant De Tomaso , little & large 

             

I just need to get the wheel inserts for the GT40 and do abit more work on the tyres.

The De Tomaso is almost as big as the Nissan Skyline and weighs 100gms without any weight, so I don't think it is going to beat any track lap records, but should be fun to drive.
