Slot Cars

- New Watson Roadsters Ostorero have announced two new versions of the Watson roadster, The # 5 Watson Offy of Rodger Ward, winner of the Indy 500 in 1959, and the #76 Joe Hunt Special of Al Herman from the Indianapolis 1960.

- Bugatti T13 Velasor’s magnificent Bugatti T13s have been available for a little while now, but their new “epic race versions” are probably even more incredible. They are not cheap, but the level of detailing and realism is outstanding. These photos represent the car driven by Pierre Marco at Brescia in 1921, when Bugatti took the first four places.

- Aston Martin DBR1 Let’s round off our trio of top-end slot car makers with a trio of top end Aston Martins, two of which helped David Brown to finally win Le Mans with a one-two finish in 1959. Le Mans Miniatures have modelled all three cars, the Shelby/Salvadori car which won, the second-placed Trintignant/Frère car, and the Moss/Fairman car which suffered from engine problems.

- Avant Slot BMW 2002tii Avant Slot have posted a couple of prototype photos of their BMW 2002tii – a reworking of the excellent Spirit tooling – which is expected to be released next month.

- BRM 1:24 scale Alfa Romeo GTA 1300 Spa 1972 Just arrived from BRM is this stunning Levi’s livery on their 1:24 scale Alfa GTA Junior. Driven by Pierre Rubens and Charles Alex Van Ryn at the 1972 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, you can buy this model from Pendle Slot Racing now.

Motorsport
Livery of the week – DTM at Spielberg

One for Carrera perhaps? Not only is this a stunning modern GT3 livery (especially if your name is Paul…), but this weekend Thomas Preining became the first Austrian to win a DTM race on home soil. Surely the Austrian slot car company can’t pass this one by!
- DTM at The Red Bull Ring You can watch highlights of both races from Austria on the DTM YouTube Channel – and with a choice of German or English commentary. There’s also coverage of the classic DTM support races.
- BTCC at Silverstone Next month’s finale at Brands Hatch was set up perfectly by a frantic Sunday at Silverstone. You’ll have to wait for the ITV highlights, but UK viewers can watch a re-run of the full day’s coverage over at the ITV Hub.
- NASCAR Texas Motor Speedway The Nascar playoffs are certainly providing plenty of drama and surprises this year! Sunday’s race in Texas saw more woes for title contenders and tempers flare on and off the track. Extended highlights are on the Nascar YouTube Channel.
- ELMS 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps The penultimate round of the European Le Mans Championship saw a wet-dry race at Spa. There was plenty of wild action through Eau Rouge and Raidillon and the points table nicely poised for the final race at Portimão next month. Highlight are on the ELMS YouTube Channel.
- Goodwood Revival Highlights If you’re missing your fix of Revival action, Goodwood Road & Racing have posted a load more bite-sized highlights snippets and full race re-runs to their YouTube Channel. Fantastic stuff!
- WRC New Zealand Preview The World Rally Championship returns to New Zealand this week, with eight-time champion Sébastien Ogier joining the WRC regulars on the starting line. You can watch a preview on the WRC YouTube Channel.
