Global GT Challenge Proxy - Official Results

The car reviews are done.
3 minor fixes:
1 loose wing.
1 loose driver.
1 front body screw with no plastic to grab.

It's hot and sunny and I'll be wearing shorts to the club for the first time this year  Bigsmile

We had a mention on the local radio on Thursday after I put our club details on the Manx Radio 'what's on guide'

Global GT Challenge Proxy - Round 7 - Isle of Man - 12th July 2025
.
It’s hot…it’s sunny…it’s a wonderful day for a proxy and the chance to drive some fabulous cars setup by other people.
.
First of all thanks to all you guys who have spent time setting cars up for this proxy, to Graham for organising some great proxy themes, to the clubs and home track owners who host the various rounds of this proxy and to the various sponsors who generously donate prizes for this and other Slot car proxies.
…and secondly, this is the most enjoyable proxy we at the Manx Slot Car Club have entered so far, the overall standard of car builds is way higher than those of previous proxies.  The cars are just so enjoyable to drive.
.
The cars were matched up in reverse current championship order with Modified Standard cars going first, Revoslots going next, then a break for dinner as that was half way through the event, then finishing off with the Pro cars.
.
We had some amazing side-by-side races, not daring to try and overtake as the track has tight areas.
I was hugely impressed by the performance of some motors, the ‘Spanish King’ motors with pink wrappers are superb, smooth and progressive.  I also liked the performance of the Scaleauto motors, it seems they don’t have a ‘racey’ reputation but they’re great motors.
.
I don’t think there was a favourite car this time round as there were many to choose from but we did have a new proxy lap record today, previously held by Ade’s Scaleauto Porsche 911 in the GT Sports Cars Slotting Proxy with a 6.06” hot lap…
…smashed today by Kev driving Andy’s Kremer Porsche, 5.83” is a fast lap, we are into NSR Mosler lap time territory on this track.
.
...and so to the results...
.

.

.

.
Videos to come include the car previews and racing footage, this time we added a GoPro camera looking down from the other end of the room, I’ll see if I can cut this into part of the screen whilst editing the video over the coming days.
.
..and that’s it for Round 7 of the Global GT Challenge Proxy 2025…on Monday the cars will be on their way to the last round of this proxy…they think it’s all over…not just yet!

p.s. Graham, you should get an email with shared access to the Google Sheets results so you can copy/paste to make your life easier

Global GT Challenge Review Round 7
General
So with the club entrants already very strong contenders in the series so far, it was not surprising that they did well on the home track.

Car inspections
Kevan has altready commented on the arrivals, and there was a few more "wing" casualties during the racing, I am thinking it might be a very long time before we repeat this type of proxy again  Bigsmile

Statistics
Modified Standard
Laps Average 34, Std Dev 2.7 laps
Fastest Lap Average 7.9 sec, variation 0.25 sec

Revoslot
Laps Average 35, Std Dev 1 laps
Fastest Lap Average 6.6 sec, variation 0.03 sec

ProCar
Laps Average 36, Std Dev 2 laps
Fastest Lap Average 6.5 sec, variation 0.15 sec

Very little differance in the average number of laps and lap times between the Revoslots & the Procars.

Championship Points

Modified Standard
GT1-  Leading Cars
1st -BatManx / Merc CLK GTR (35pts)
2nd - Mountain View  Porsche 911 GT1 (31pts)
3rd - Scott Sports/Porsche 911 GT1 (16pts)

Mountain View Porsche 911 has effectively caught up with the leading car, so all could depend on the final Round.

GP3 Leading Cars
1st -ModSports /BMW V12 LMP (55pts)
2nd - Green Star Racing / BMW V12 LMP (41pts)
3rd - Equipe Trelawney - Porsche Joerst ( 34pts)

ModSports BMW looking safe, a really good Round for the Porsche Joerst of Equipe Trelawney on this Round

Revoslots
GT1  Leading cars
1st -Makem/Mclaren GTR (55pts)
2nd - Oxo Cube / Merc CLK GTR (48pts)
3rd - RoadRunners / Lister Storm (36pts)

Makem Mclaren seems to be well ahead of this class now.

GT2  Leading Cars
1st - Brumos RSR / Dodge Viper (84pts)
2nd - Paint Horse One / Dodge Viper (54pts)
3rd - Team ALS / Toyota Supra (33pts)

Brumos Viper could sit the next round out and still win the class.

GP3 Leading Cars
1st -  RoadRunners / Toyota GT-ONE (65pts)
2nd - Brumos RSR /Ferrari 333SP (53pts)
3rd - Makem  /  Ferrari 333SP (40pts)

Road Runners Toyota GT-ONE looking strong for the final Round

Procars
GT1 Leading Cars
1st - Demon Tweeks / Lamborghini Mucielago (127pts)
2nd - Bangers Racing / BMW Z4 (124pts)
3rd - Sam D / Corvette C6R (97pts)

A better run at the Manx Club for Bangers Racing BMW against the home team and still very much in contention for the Class win going into the last Round.

GT2 Leading Cars
1st -Bangers Racing / Ferrari F355 (99pts)
2nd - ModSports Corvette C5R (98pts)
3rd - BAracer / Marcos (64pts)

Definitely a cliff hanger for the class win as we go into the final Round.

GP3 Leading Cars
1st- Demon Tweeks / Porsche Kremer (118pts)
2nd - BAracer / Audi R8 (106pts)
3rd - BatManx / Jaguar XJR9 (84pts)

Another cliff hanger, Demon Tweeks looking relatively safe, but BAracer Audi made a good round at the Manx club, and with potentially 20pts at stake, this could be a very close result at the end.

Just to add, there was no damage to any of the cars yesterday.  A couple of flimsy wing mirrors during handling but that was all.

I love Group C and LMP cars, they're great to race.  We should take a leaf out of Revoslots book and use tiny magnets to hold the rear wing on (as I discovered with Brumos Ferrari), Andy said he has one like that, I wasn't aware that was a standard feature (it's a great idea too).
