Global GT Challenge Proxy - Official Results

As I've said before, a 1p coin is 1.5mm thick, that's what I use to set ground clearance...now there's no excuses  Thumbup

Put a 1p coin on your surface plate or bit of track, roll the car back and forth, if the 1p coin doesn't move your ground clearance is more than 1.5mm Thumbup

As I said in my covering letter, it's the saggiest chassis I have ever come across, which doesn't help.

I would agree with that, the chassis seems to be almost banana shaped from front to back which does not help.

I have discussed with the associated Entrants the issues relating to Scott Sports Porsche & Ruscillo's Jaguar XJR9, and pleased to report that we have a plan in place to resolve the NC issues.

We have a little time in hand before the 1st Round, so I am going to postpone the qualifying sessions until Wednesday/Thursday next week. Hopefully by then the outstanding issues can be resolved and by then we will also have the final Entry from the US.

Wavegreen Good afternoon,
Well I was able to run the Modified Group of cars today, after a quick change of wheels for the Scott Sports Porsche, luckily the tyres had not been glued on.

So I will look at posting the results tomorrow, technically not a points scoring round.

The Revoslots & Procar groups will be run as soon as we have the complete field of cars.

Wavegreen Good Morning,

So having a complete field of "legal" cars for the Modified Standard Cars I was able to run this Group yesterday, I have updated the Scrutineer report accordingly so there are no penalties in this group of cars to be applied  Sun

The results are

I have recorded a video of the runs for you to view yourself later in the week.

General views
ModSports/ BMW V12 LMP - was really great to run, and certainly matched the pace of my "Test Car" which is a Scalex AMV with magnets, so the impression I am left with is that you could characterize this car as being in the Procar class category ?

Oxo Cube /Sauber Mercedes C9 - Another really fast car, probably a bit too excitable for my track, so if anything I probably tended to under drive it to keep it in the slot. A little lower in weight than the fastest car but that Predator motor is waiting for a more appropriate track I think.

Green Star Racing / BMW V12 LMP - Another car I had to under drive a bit on my track, fast but perhaps a little more unstable and even then it still came out the slot once during the run. Fairly strong on braking, had to adapt my driving abit for this one.

Mountain View / Porsche 911 GT1 - The best of the GT1 cars on my track, felt a little unsure around the corners, sometimes the rear tyres would slip.

BatManx / Mercedes Benz GTR - Very stable and quite fast on my track.

Equipe Trelawny / Joest Porsche - Very good grip on my track, fairly quick, had to adapt to the very strong braking on this car.

Scott Sports / Porsche 911 GT1 - Too light at the front so easy to de-slot the car, the NSR Supergrip rear tyres were not so good on my track.

Bangers Racing / Marcos - Well what can you say really..... struggled with it a lot on my track. Seemed very unstable with the motor at the front so had to run it quite slow for the qualifying run and even then still lost it twice on the corners. Perhaps should have been in a class of its own  Bigsmile
