Wavegreen Good afternoon,
So we are approaching the final round of the Goodwood Revival Proxy
Many thanks again for the great turn out at the NERCS Club (8 members) who turned up to run the previous round for us, it was a great job, well done.
We should see some videos of the action soon, once they have been processed.

Championship Review
Kinrara Trophy
1st Place - ModSports Corvette (141pts)
2nd Place - RoadRunners Ferrari 250 GTO (114pts)
3rd Place - Brumos RSR Porsche 904 (113pts)
Expecting a cruise home ModSports Corvette in the final round to clinch the top spot, RoadRunners surprised to find themselves contesting 2nd place with Brumos RSR, so we will have to see what happens.

Gerry Marshall Turing Cars
1st Place - LeManx Jaguar XJ12C (160pts)
2nd Place - BatManx Camaro Z28 (89pts)
3rd Place - Brumos RSR Camaro (73pts)
LeManx Jaguar looking for a clean sweep of the Event series with only one Round to go. BatManx Standardish Camaro also looking to end on a high in 2nd place. There will however be a scrap for 3rd place as Brumos RSR Camaro looks bound to be superceded by either Paul C Alfa Romeo or Bangers Racing Rover SD1.

Whitsun Trophy
1st Place - RoadRunners Ferrari 330 Spyder (128pts)
2nd Place - LeManx Ford GT40 (110 pts)
3rd Place - ModSports Ford MKIV (108pts)
Just to show that anything can happen during these proxies, the Roadrunners Ferrari had an unexpected disastrous run on the last round due to a lose piece of interior (spare wheel moulding) and lost a whole heap of points. So they are are hoping for a more predictable run on a high to end the series. The Manx Club cars of LeManx and ModSports are at least sparring for 2nd, perhaps even 1st......

So there are still a few final positions to be resolved at the Manx Club.

When the box arrives - stormy weather permitting means the boat will be delayed, two sailings are currently cancelled tomorrow with two before it at risk...NOT a pleasant trip in a storm for 5 hours I can assure you from experience  :o(

...I'll do a car review which I look forward to as much as driving the cars, I'll probably record it first then upload to youtube, this will enable me to stop/start if necessary.

We'll be racing in pairs...it's obvious which pairing is going to end this proxy...RoadRunners Ferrari 330 Spyder vs LeManx Ford GT40  Checkeredflag

The final round of the Goodwood Revival Proxy has been run...

First off, thanks to Ed and Brian for running proceedings, marshalling and pausing the races during track calls.

Secondly thanks to all you guys who entered this fantastic proxy, the cars were generally better setup than for any previous proxy we have entered that  Graham has organised and it was the most enjoyable proxy to drive so far.

Thirdly, there were no car failures today, the repairs done yesterday resulted in a clean run of racing today:
  • ALS Camaro - rear axle wandering...I moved the spacers inboard between the crown gear and bearing, it was as though they were sized to fit absolutely perfectly!
  • Ed's Camaro - the guide mount was perilously close to total failure, how it survived I'll never know but I reinforced the area with superglue & bicarb powder (this is in the car review video I'll upload this week).
  • 3 or 4 cars braids were badly folded over, I think this is due to the size of the hole in the plastic base plates.
  • Front wheel grubscrew was missing on one of the cars yesterday, I can't remember which one, it's also in the review video but I fitted a new one.
During my last few car reviews there's been one car that's stood out as one to watch and that car has indeed performed admirably, this time however there was no standout car as the overall standard has been raised.

The cars were run in event order, in pairs (apart from Event 1 with an odd number of cars), the car with the lowest number of points going first, the car with the highest number of points going last.

We didn't run qually, preferring to do a couple or three practice laps to tune the controller settings in.

Races were 2 minutes on Yellow lane (driven by Andy) plus 2 minutes on Blue lane (driven by myself).

The last two cars to race were Le Manx GT40 and RoadRunners Ferrari 330 to decide the winner of Event 3.
