Comments
We had a couple of unusual incidents, Makem Dolomite seemed to struggle with some front wheel rubbing on the wheel arches (seemed to be a pick up of rubber accumulating on the body surface. Brumos Camaro pick up guide struggled on one of the lanes due to the thickness of the blade (the other lane was fine). We resolved this by running the car on the same lane twice with different drivers. And finally LeManx Ford GT40 lost its complete front wheels and axle on one of the lane runs. So we decided to repeat this run after we restored the parts back on the car as we were concerned that the car had appeared to run faster without the wheels and axle than with it  Bigsmile

Championship Review (Rounds 1-5)
Generally speaking with the expert local club drivers, Round 5 went rather smoothly with only a few car deslots.
I think the very long straight on the track favoured those cars with top speed advantage over the others, so I was not so surprised with the final positions. It was certainly a good round for the Manx Club guys overall. Brumos cars scored well again, and RoadRunners cars also in the top 3. Might have expected a significantly better run with Bangers Racing cars on the home track, but surprisingly not this time. Also not such a good track round for ALS cars, inspite of the attempts to restore them beforehand.

Championship Points
Kinrara Trophy
1st Place - ModSports Corvette Stingray (86pts)
2nd Place - Brumos RSR Porsche 904 (76pts)
3rd Place - RoadRunners Ferrari 250GTO (68pts)
Looking like a fairly settled pattern at this stage of the series, the top 3 cars breaking away from the others. But not necessarily a done deal as yet.

Gerry Marshall Touring Cars
1st Place - LeManx Jaguar XJ12C (100pts)
2nd Place - Brumos RSR Camaro (61pts)
3rd Place - Batmanx Camaro Z28 (48pts)
Similarly the top 3 cars seem to be dictating the running order, but LeManx Jaguar looking pretty invincible at the top with a full bag of points so far.
Another great run by the "Standard-ish" Camaro Z28 of Batmanx, everyone is surprised by the performance of this car, well above expectations.

Whitsun Trophy
1st Place - RoadRunners Ferrari 330 Spyder (86pts)
2nd Place - ModSports Ford GT MKIV (66pts)
3rd Place - LeManx Ford GT40 (65pts)
The RoadRunners team feeling a bit vulnerable at this point, having clearly been outpaced on Round 5 by the Manx Club cars, which in turn are having a close competition between themselves. But generally again the top 3 cars are drawing away from the rest of the field.

Wavegreen Good afternoon,
I would like to introduce the Trelawny Slot Car Club based in Falmouth.

The track is situated in a double garage owned by the host Mark. I have raced on it myself a few times and it is an interesting circuit to run on. The track is obviously not very big but is a very smooth routed 3 lane wood track and is best described a "sprint track" with sharp corners and short straights. So the cars I would expect to do well would be those with good acceleration and braking, rather than those with highest top speed. But we will see.

I would also like to give a 5 star award to DHL who delivered the cars from Nottingham to Falmouth (door to door) by their next day delivery (at least a 6 hour car drive without stopping)   Handshake Having been convinced from previous experience that they would make this a 2 day trip, they astonished me with their much improved service.

Loose parts
Someone asked me this week about this topic, so as to explain it is my policy that if any cosmetic parts come off the cars during a Round the host places the parts into a self sealing plastic bag carried around within the box of cars until the end of the series. This is because simply replacing the part onto the car makes it more likely that it will come off the next time or thereafter etc. So in my view it is safer to bag it than risk it getting lost around another track.
So far we have:
Brumos RSR Camaro- rear boot wing.
BatManx Camaro Z28 -rear wheel insert
RoadRunners Ferrari 330 Spyder- black windscreen wiper blade
Team Cube Ferrari 250GTO -Chrome windscreen wiper blade
ALS McLaren M6A- original pinion & drivers head
