Slotting Car Proxy Club

If you want a certain race winner then you need a Richard Mac chassis like the one below  Sun

But as Brumos say's, they are also metal and therefore not allowed either .

It would be just too easy .......... Bigsmile

Not certain winners in our club, we see Mack chassied cars but there's plenty of alternatives that beat them...mostly plastic chassis too.

...but they're a guaranteed way to definitely improve an original basic chassied car

Its different when you are "live" racing, as a lot depends on the driver skills.

I’ve I just received a ton of parts and even opened a Porsche that’s been sitting since April ‘2021 and started building cars, I assume others may have started doing the same.

On the wheels, I assume you are measuring at the rib and not the face as I’ve seen this complicate building in the past.  I suggest a simple 15x6 to 15x10 minimum size rule.  Unless the vehicle was equipped with a smaller diameter wheel.

Just a comment regarding B&W chassis, if there are 10 cars with B&W chassis maybe consider it as a class on its own without a body restriction as with mounts the bodies are as heavy as other bodies.

I have restored the Porsche 934 & Camaro 69 to the list for you  Thumbup

In the past you could have said that the "Richard Mack chassis " were commercially available, but sadly Richard does not seem to sell them anymore.

I picked up 2 this spring new from a distributor in the UK.  One Ferrari 250 GTO and one for the Autumn proxy in the form of a 79 Z/28.  It will be under powered due to the weight as a 25k motor has proven to be right.

You’re very lucky then, when I last saw him he did not seem to think he would be making more. I don’t know much about the process but I think his supplier of the laser cut parts has withdrawn their service. As it a very much a low volume specialist application, probably very difficult getting it done at a economic cost.

I think they are lighter than solid brass chassis, so probably run very competitive with a 23k motor.

Depends how thick the brass is, Andy only uses 0.5mm thick brass which would be a fair bit lighter than a steel Mack jobbie.

Sorry but Not being very familiar with the Porsche 934, I checked it out this morning, and like the Porsche 911 RSR it has quite wide wheel arches compared to the other cars in this Category. So I think it is out of context of the other earlier cars in the " Monte Carlo -Sports car" category, and have moved it across to the "Tour de France - Touring Cars Category. It's now in the same list as the Camaro 69.
