I vote a strong NO to that idea  Rofl

I can't say I like the idea either, it's difficult enough deciding on what car in the first place without worrying what everyone else is working on.

Most of us will work on a car without telling the world what it is so how is this is going to work.

No duplicate cars yes, i.e. same livery and number.

Even that is an issue, for the very reason you posted above  Rofl
Say I had bought a the same livery and car as you without either of us knowing until we declared our entries ...  Cussing Bigsmile
So far as I can recall duplicate liveries haven't happened yet in one of Grahams proxies, but at some point odds are, it will !

It does happen with other proxies, probably the reason that often those proxies allocate car numbers to entrants. My proxies tend to have a wider range of cars, so I have not bothered allocation of numbers as yet. But it is important to know what entrants intentions are in advance, so that I can spot any such concerns and resolve them. If I know there are going to be two identical cars I can ask one entrant to change the car number.  Sun

making entrants put their name on the bottom of car chassis ( engraved . sharpie or sticker ) should remove any problem with duplicates
whether it be team name . forum name . or RL name

1st US proxy i entered . i forgot this requirement and received a penalty

tape or blue tack over screws is a standard requirement for most of the US proxies . so should definitely be employed here

some also ask for body / pod screw tightening info on the bottom of the chassis
bit OTT imo . but if tape or blue tack are employed . repositioning of screws should be discouraged during the series . and the cars should be ran as they arrive unless it is obvious the screws are fully unwound or missing

no duplicate car numbers is a big thing over the pond also .
dunno why .
not a biggie unless you intend to run a manufactured tampo livery . stickie roundels temporarily fix this if entrants want to return their cars to stock

also representing cars as how a 1-1 liveried car should look (even if it is a fantasy livery) in the class they are intended to compete in is heavily enforced . if it doesn't look the part it can be DQ'd

almost all of the above i have found myself in hot water for at one time or another
and never once an intentional breach
so easy to overlook the simple stuff when entering

Kev

Many thanks for that insight Kev, I do insist that entrants write their name on the chassis and I also use a sticker ID system. So mostly we have this covered. But it is a thought that “in the heat of the moment”   Hosts can still perhaps be confused by identically visual cars especially if they are run side by side. So I think it might be a good idea to ask the entrants to apply different decal numbers if we get into duplicate cars which I can see is more likely with the type of Event 4 GT3 cars.

I will insist this time around that cars are declared by the Registration date which is about a month before the date of receiving the cars. So that any anomalies like this can be resolved before the cars are sent. Obviously those who send their cars in first will be able to retain the numbers they have on their cars. Any late declarations will get a penalty, as will any cars arriving after the delivery date.

I needed a rear wing so modified a file I had then printed it in nylon so it's flexible and be very very difficult to break, the body will probably break first.

Now I'm not 100% sure which class to go in with this, I quite like the idea of a Class A car but also like the idea of drawing up a 3D chassis for it similar to the Audi A5 as a Class B car.

I'll have to build it as a standard car and test it first but I know it won't be as quick as a Class B version which will hinder competing for the Event prize.

We recently created a 'Back to Basics' class based on Grahams Class A rules, basic cars with basic mods and lower performance motors so I will get chances to test it in racing conditions.

Ready for testing...

.  Revoslot standard rear tyres (solid)
.  NSR Shark 22 motor
.  12/34 gearing
.  Brass plate to replace the plastic hatch
.  Tungsten TIG rod pieces filling the two magnet pockets
.  Slotingplus 002 guide
. Plastic front wheels at the moment because I had a set glued and trued the right size but probably be replacing with alloys

Ahh, a modification of the chassis. So that makes it a Class B or possibly Class C…I think
