My faith in getting a resolution from Manx Independent Carriers /DPD is beginning to fade as this goes on, so I will ask anyone who has any insider influence to do what they can. I am quite happy to collect from the Depot which is not so far from me.

We can't decide to abandon the proxy until we have the cars back, even then it makes no sense to cancel it, if we have to reschedule then the next proxy should have to wait.

Some of those cars have been sent from across the Atlantic it's not fair to send it back until it's purpose has been finalised i.e. proxy completed.

I didn't know you lived close to the lost property depot, if it were me I would have gone down last week, you paid for the box to be shipped Graham so I don't see how they can turn you away, you have shipping details from the order you placed and paid DPD for.

I still live 1 and a half hours away, so I am not about to spend 3 hours driving there and back to find that there is no one there prepared to see me. I very much doubt that they have anyone there on a full time basis otherwise they might have answered the phone at least once in the 10 times I tried to call them

If the worse comes to the worse, what's the insurance value of our box of cars, street value over £1000 at £25 per car?

I think you are a bit light, there Kevan. Most cars are upgraded from standard. Roughly, Motor £10, Tyres £6, Wheels £12, Axles £2, 3D Chassis £12, Gears £10.
I'd definitely be looking at nearer a minimum of £50. Some of them are NSR's, so £70 before you change the tyres and gears.

Anyway, lets hope it doesn't come to that.

Cheers Chris

It was a very conservative guesstimate to show how valuable that box is.

Assuming we get the cars back in the next couple of weeks, I am planning to reduce the number of Rounds in order to avoid running late into December. At that time of year it becomes increasingly difficult to move the box about anyway due to the amount of additional festive parcels added to the carriers workload. Probably looking at reducing the Rounds from 10 to 8. I will be in contact with the hosts effected by the changes once we get our hands on the cars.
