I always ask Graham to send to my local DHL depot. OK it is a 30 mile round trip but I am not waiting in for a delivery or pick up that never comes.
Regards
Gerry
Its obviously different depending on area !
Evri or whatever they are called this month, are the worst around here, DPD I have always found to be excellent.

They lied on the tracking app about why they failed to pick up the box. That says enough about dpd for me.

I think in general these services are getting worse.
So far with this Proxy series we had……
DHL did not collect next day, just turned up the day after, no reason given
DPD said parcel was not ready on the tracking record, on the phone then told me they went to wrong address and it was my job to reorder
BARcer collection and delivery service excellent

Gotta hand it to Parcelforce...not the cheapest but get the job done and was the only viable option I had sending a box of slot car products to the USA

At the risk of being ‘shot down’ and in order to create a better customer experience could I possibly suggest that for future proxies track specifications as well as slot car specifications are stated. There has been some discussion about slot guide measurements but early Scaley track is not just lacking in depth but it warps as well. The guys who ran foul of the last stage may as well have their slot cars sent back to them because there is no way they are going to make up the time lost. In future any one who wants to run a proxy must satisfy track specs which as far as I am concerned wouldn’t include old Scaley SCX track.
I have now entered my bomb proof shelter and await the drones. ?

Then let me be the first to shoot you down
The type of tracks were listed in the schedule, and the classic SCX and Scalextric tracks have been used on our previous Road Race proxies, so it has been quite common to use them. Obviously there is an issue in that entrants perhaps don't follow the recommendations regarding the guides. I am still yet to believe that anyone who had fitted the recommended guides has had a problem, but I will compare the experiences posted on the record sheets with the the actual cars again which in the fulness of time will return to me for sending back to the entrants.
At the moment I don't see any cars which reached the "default time" not able to recover a reasonable position in the competition, if they are generally slower anyway then perhaps not. In fact a majority of the cars are within a very narrow running time currently, even with the mishaps of the last Round.
But I will decide what is the best approach for future similar Proxys involving Classic slot tracks depending on the overall outcome this time around, but probably being that to enter on any new Classic SCX/Scalextric track based proxies it will be mandatory rather than advisory to use the specified slot guides.
