Good Morning
Many thanks again to the lads at NERCS for running Round 5 of the Grand Prix proxy
So at the "Halfway House" we have the ....
Pitlane Review Rounds 1-5
Early Flyers
1st Place -Roadrunners - Mercedes W196
2nd Place -Mountain View - Mercedes W196
3rd Place - Team Cube - Scarab
The two Mercs of RoadRunners and Mountain View still locked in a battle at the top of the class, Mountain views car the better car on the day at NERCS. Unfortunately the Scarab of Team Cube still suffering with technical issues, this time loose front tyre, lost out to the now revived Ferrari Squalo of RNLI.
The garage managed to sort out the " Ferrari porpoising effect " by replacing the rear axle. I have passed this solution onto Toto Wolf at Mercedes as it might help his modern day team
Classic
1st place - Roadrunners- Cooper Climax
2nd Place - Bangers Racing - Porsche 804
3rd Place - Team RNLI - Lotus 24
A kind of status quo has been reached between the first three cars, with the Roadrunners Cooper the clear leading car, Courtney Sport Cooper however is clearly the faster car in this group but quite a long way back.
Legends
1st Place - Team Tatters - Williams FW07
2nd Place - Ruscillo Racing - Ferrari 126C
3rd Place - Mountain View -Shadow DN1
It is nip and tuck at the front with this time the Williams of Team Tatters just ahead by one point of the Ferrari of Ruscillo Racing, not such a good run for the Mountain View Shadow putting them in 3rd place at this stage. And the Shadow now under increasing pressure from the Williams of Bangers Racing.
Modern
1st Place - Courtney Sport - Mclaren MP4/13
2nd Place - Team Cube - Williams FW40
3rd Place - Team Tatters - Dallara
Courtney Sports Mclaren now has a commanding lead of this class, with the rest of the field evenly strung out.
Team Points
Still increasing their dominance, Roadrunners Team are now 10 points clear at the top, followed by the pack of Team Tatters, Mountain View and Team Cube closely contending 2nd place. Similarly we have Bangers Racing, Rusillo Racing and now Courtney Sport contesting 5th place.
So there is still plenty of action to come, next stop is our new Host tracks at Woking who will be running both a routed wood and a painted plastic track for Rounds 6 & 7 over the next two weeks.
