Micro Scalextric Super Stock 6.0 Eliminators - Round 1

Thirteen on the ladder - a new record for Super Stock - means the top two qualifiers have one bye round each, but we get two semi-finals to add to the excitement. Round 1 saw top qualifier Alan have his bye - he clocked 0.486 seconds to warm up the strip.

Next was the tightest contest - seventh vs eighth qualifier, Al vs Andy Pl...

It was a humdinger. Andy was quick off the line with standard gearing, but Al's tiny crown really got going and he finished like a rocket. Who'd won? TrackMate gave it to the green Nissan by 0.007 seconds - Andy's ET 0.523 abd Al's 0.528. Andy would meet Alan in round two.

Dave qualified fourth and Pete was back in eleventh - "Crazy Ivan" had been rather tight on its first few runs down the strip. This time the little white hatchback was fast! A 0.470 run gave Pete the win by 0.037 seconds, Dave clocking 0.504.

Iain had the chance of revenge over Bill. And he took it. The tenth qualifier beat the fifth by 0.041 seconds in the third upset in a row... Iain's ET was 0.531.

It was back to form in the fourth race - Rebecca dispatching Andy Ph's Mini by 0.329 seconds. Her time of 0.474 was followed by a 0.457 in the following round - a solo bye run.

The fifth race also went with the form book - Hank beating Clive by 0.089 seconds and setting down a quick ET of 0.480.

Finally in the first round, another absolute cracker. Jeremy had qualified three places ahead of Jane, but they were neck-and-neck down the strip. Everyone looked to the scoreboard - Jeremy had it by 0.003 seconds, his ET 0.522 to Jane's 0.524. Sensational.

Super Stock - Round 2 & Semis

Andy was quickest away in the first round 2 race. However, his advantage was eaten up in the second half of the strip - Hot Mustard set-up for blistering speed through the finish line. Alan's winning margin was 0.045 seconds, with an ET of 0.460.

Crazy Ivan continued to be very fast in round 2. Pete dispatched Iain by 0.058 seconds and with an ET of 0.472. He'd meet Alan in the semis...

Before that, Hank met Jeremy to decide who'd line up against Rebecca in the other semi final. Jeremy was away well, but the small crown gear in Hank's Focus did the job over the second half of the strip... a winning margin of 0.037 and ETs of 0.476 for Hank and 0.518 for Jeremy.

Semi Finals

Crazy Ivan has standard Micro Scalextric gearing so was away into a decent lead... Hot Mustard had a lot of catching up to do, but catch up it did. A check of the scoreboard... and Alan won by 0.010 seconds - he needed a 0.455 to do it, Pete clocking 0.464. Looks like we have another contender for next season!

Rebecca's Nissan was quick off the line and kept on going... and Hank's customary late surge just didn't happen. A comfortable margin of 0.050 seconds and ETs of 0.479 and 0.523. Hank will be disappointed - he had a chance.

That gives us the top two qualifiers in the final - coming up soon...

Micro Scalextric Super Stock 6.0 Final

Alan lined up against Rebecca...

And this is what happened...

Rebecca got away better...

And then had the speed to see off Hot Mustard at the end. It was close - a gap of 0.016 on the line, Alan ET 0.478 wasn't his best, so Rebecca's 0.465 was enough...

Congratulations to Rebecca on three straight Winter Series wins in Super Stock!

Here's the ladder...

And here are the stats from all the elimination runs...

It's now time for Micro Scalextric Street Stock Round 1

Top qualifier Clive beat Al by 0.172 seconds - 0.648 to 0.818 - in the first race.

In the battle of tenth vs eleventh qualifiers, Hank got bogged down off the line, allowing Sue to get away and win by 0.065 of a second. Her 0.740 ET shouldn't worry Clive for round 2. But that might be tempting fate.

Third qualifier Jeff comfortably beat Doug by 0.125 seconds and set a solid ET of 0.675.

Alan's Audi is not as quick as usual this weekend, but had enough to beat Dave's Stocker by 0.073 seconds. The winning ET was 0.707.

Laura's DBR9 is quick - setting 0.663 on the way to a 0.061 second win over Noah's Ford Focus.

The final race in the top part of the ladder saw Jerome's Veyron beat his dad's Audi by 0.059 seconds - the ETs 0.681 to 0.745.

Second-place qualifier Jane clocked 0.644 and beat Dylan by 0.148 seconds.

Rebecca's Porsche beat Andy's Alfa by 0.071 - the ETs 0.679 and 0.748.

Bill cruised past David by 0.058 seconds, his ET 0.687.

And finally... a bit of a scare for Jeremy. A very poor start left him with a lot to do, but once he got going he was quick. A 0.051 second winning margin over Iain's Jag and a 0.687 run.

Sadly, I failed to get a pic of the full round 1 stats, but ETs and winning margins were recorded.

Street Stock Round 2

No big shocks in the first round... what would happen in the next?

No shock, but two excellent times in the first race - Sue went sub-700 for the first time this weekend, but Clive hooked up the perfect run to clock 0.606. Enough to win by 0.099 with a decent hole shot. Would he go even better - or had he peaked too soon?

Jeff was ahead all down the strip, even though Alan got down to 0.674. The black Audi clocked 0.627 and won by 0.050 seconds.

Jerome was tardy off the line, Laura getting a 0.016 second hole shot and holding that advantage to the finish line - winning by 0.023. Laura's ET was 0.655 and Jerome's 0.662.

Rebecca was no match for Jane, even though she equalled her qualifying time. Jane's 0.618 was very fast and gave her a 0.054 win.

Jeremy and Bill looked very evenly matched, but it was the Veyron that put together the best run - a fabulous 0.636 gave Jeremy a 0.033 second win to line up a third round match with Jane. The winner would go straight to the final...

Street Stock - Round 3 & Semi

Clive had a bye in round 3 and banged in a 0.616. Quick...

Jeff raced Laura to find who'd meet Clive in the one semi-final. It was close, but Laura's Aston Martin didn't have quite enough for Jeff's Audi. The gap at the finish line was 0.023 seconds - their ETs 0.630 and 0.650.

The de facto semi-final in the lower part of the ladder saw Jane and Jeremy produce the race of the competition so far. Neck-and-neck from start to finish, who'd won? The scoreboard said Jane - by 0.004 of a second. Jane's time 0.631 and Jeremy's 0.634. So close... Jane would go through to the final.

Semi-Final

The one proper Round 4 Semi-final race was Audi vs Audi, Norfolk vs Texas, Clive vs Jeff...

Clive had it front the start - the winning margin 0.027 seconds, ETs 0.625 to 0.645. Clive would meet Jane in the final round...

Micro Scalextric Street Stock - Final

Jane has won three out of four Street Stock finals in the Winter Series, but Clive's Audi is really on top form this weekend...

This is what happened...

None the wiser? Well, this is what happened...

Clive's reaction time was 0.003 seconds quicker, but then his Audi seemed to get its nose down a fraction quicker - and that was enough...

The two cars passed the finish line at exactly the same speed, but Clive had a 0.007 second lead...

What a race! Congratulations to Clive on a fantastic Street Stock win Checkeredflag

Here's the ladder (click on the image to make it bigger)...

And the stats from Round 2 onwards...

That's it for Saturday's action. It's a bit of a 4-Gear fest tomorrow... See you in the morning for warm up and qualifying.
