UK HO Drag Proxy Series 2021-22 - Race #2 July 2021
#71

The cars are packed and ready to go. Nico's box will be on its way today - as will Pete, Jerome and Sue's cars and the first box to Iain. Ken's cars are scheduled to go on Monday, as will Alan's and Clive's. I'll hold Iain's victorious pancake cars a few days to run against Bill's, when they arrive.

Don't forget, the next event in September is billed as the "UK Autumn Nationals" - open to anyone anywhere in the world, but we'll be running all our classes. So that means Micro Scalextric Street and Super Stock, plus the NHRA and Nostalgia classes - and the two match-racing categories will have their own qualifying and eliminations competition. It'll be a busy weekend!

If anyone has a car (or two) for an exhibition run, that would make a nice intermission between the classes.

Andy,

Thanks a million for everything!!!
Match races are already brewing. The 2-lanes in the wilderness will be busy as soon as the jalopies return to the Great White North.

The purple Challenger is looking to take a beating by blue #2.  Checkeredflag

Cheers,
Ken

Andy,

I read and enjoyed your article on Andy Pipes Escort, that was linked in a recent Jadlam Hobbies ad.  It’s really cool that Scalextrics chose to make his car!

Thanks

Thanks Bill Thumbup

Looks like your parcel arrived today - I'll aim to get the cars on the strip tomorrow or Wednesday.

Andy,

Thank you for letting me know.  I was beginning to worry about them.

Glad to hear your cars made it, El Camino Bill.  Thumbup

I hope Andy kept my cars back so I can beat your fist with my face! Or something like that.  Bigsmile

A few days won't make much of a difference.

My cars arrived home safely today and a resin Jaguar E type body as a bonus.
Thanks again Andy.

Most people should have something extra in the their return box - and there will be some new flames stencils from Bill next time... Thank you Bill Thumbup

Some match racing anyone?

Event #12 - Extra Time...

1. Nostalgia 4-Gear Funny Cars

Bill's Vega lined up against Iain's victorious 'Cuda in a best of three...

Bill was a little sluggish in the early stages, Iain getting the job done with a 0.057 seconds win. Their ETs were 0.694 and 0.751.

Back on the line, but in the opposite lanes...

What was I saying about not getting many dead-heats recently?

They crossed the finish absolutely level, so they'd have another run...

This was incredibly close again. Bill was a mere 0.006 seconds behind - the win going to Iain and their ETs 0.710 to 0.714.

That's why we waited as long as we could for Bill's cars. It would have been an awesome final.

The T-Jets will race tomorrow.
