That makes sense
...meanwhile, whilst looking for something interesting (and available) for Monte Carlo Rally classic era, here's some period Pathe footage, this one is the '56 Monte Carlo...

Hi Graham, is the lancia stratos by sideways eligible for class c in the 66-89 class? Looks like the widebody version. Ran as no.539 in giro d'italia 1977

That's a very interesting one, and not one that I had considered. It was too early to have been actually Homologated as a Class B type Rally car in reality, but in essence being a wide bodied Cass 4 Rally car or Group 5 Sports car, convinces me that it is better suited to Event 2 (Class B Rally cars). So I will update the car list and put this version of Stratos in it. I think also it would be too wide to fit the Event 3 Rear wheel width requirements of 60mm.
The Ninco and Team slot versions ( not being Turbo, wide bodied) can remain in Event 3 ( 66-89 Rally cars )

Do I hear the sound of a can of worms cracking open...
In the '79 Giro there were a few Group 5 cars, Porsche 935, Lancia Stratos, Lancia Beta Montecarlo and a BMW 320i...all four available from Racer Sideways. Strictly speaking the Lancia Beta in the Giro was a short tail which the Racer version isn't.
The Rover SD1 needs adding to the 1966-89 list.
What about adding R-GT cars to the WRC list, the GT3's and GT4's of which there's a small handful, Lotus Exige, Alpine 124, Alpine A110,Porsche 997, Aston Martin Vantage.

Quite happy to add the Giro Rally Porsche 935, Lancia Stratos, Lancia Beta Montecarlo and BMW 320i to Event 2 as long as they meet the 62mm width requirement and include a Navigator with the driver and are showing "Rally Livery"
The Rover SD1 somehow avoided my scrutineering of the Rally car lists, but obviously did, so happy to include that one in Event 3.
I did not see any of the R-GT cars listed in the WRC championships for Event 4, so they will not be allowed. The Aston Martin Vantage I had listed as a Event 2 car, not entirely sure now but I think it did come up as a car which was Homologated as a Group B Rally car. And I did come a cross a Triumph TR8 Turbo Rally car today, which would be OK for Event 2
