Event 2 - Rally B Cars
Here's your action shots from this group...
First through the stage was Courtney Sport's Porsche 924...
It was a very fast run - 13.18 seconds and no deslots.
Groundhogs' Audi Quattro went well on the ice, clocking 14.55 seconds (0 deslots) to make up for Friday's Ninco off-road nightmare.
Unfortunately, it was another below-par performance from the Brumos RSR BMW M1. Struggling badly on the tight switch-back, the car crabbed to right - tending to spin out on the left-hander and/or stalling in the right-hander. After getting a rhythm of sorts, the M1 recorded a time of 17.02 seconds with one spin-out, but no deslots.
The Bangers Racing Metro 6R4 was equally delightful on the ice as it had been on Friday's Ninco stage. A time of 13.31 seconds (0 deslots) would surely be enough for combined Event 2 honours?
The Pantera is a beautiful car and the Green Star De Tomaso was super-smooth through the stage, setting a time of 13.58 seconds with no deslots.
It was no surprise that Harrison Racers' Lancia 037 was the star of this stage - low, short-ish wheelbase and utilising the punchy NC-9 motor, the 037 Rally is perfect match for this tight, twisty layout. Its tyres seemed better suited to this surface too. An awesome 12.38 second time (0 deslots) was quickest of the morning by a country mile!
From a petite Italian beauty to a German monster... The Novissime Iterum Quattro was an enjoyable drive, clocking 14.95 seconds (0 deslots) - not bad for a big beast on such a twisty track.
Disappointing on Friday's stage, the Woodcote Racing Porsche 911SC redeemed itself on the ice - a fast 13.18 seconds (0 deslots) equalling the time of Courtney Sport's 924.
Mountain View's Scalextric Delta S4 was a little tippy on this track. Entertaining the crowd with some three-wheeled corning, the Lancia set a time of 14.08 seconds (0 deslots).
The most nimble of the Quattros so far, Ruscillo Racing's Teamslot A1 stopped the clock at 13.41 seconds (0 deslots) - an impressive time for a Teutonic tank on this layout.
Another big car, Savage GT's BMW M1 was sensational on the ice. Punchy, supremely stable and surprisingly nimble - a time of 13.21 seconds (0 deslots) wasn't bad at all.
Lifeboats Racing's Audi Quattro was one of the stars of Friday's action. No need for the drop arm this time, the big car wobbled it's way nicely through the tight course to record a time of 14.55 seconds (0 deslots). Hopefully enough for a combined podium, but that second place might well have gone Savage GT's way.
The final car of this group was Team Cube's Scalextric Ferrari 308 GTB. A smooth run and a time of 14.21 seconds placed the Group 4 Ferrari ninth out of the 13 cars in this group...

Extremely tight in and around those podium places - the top four had a sensational weekend, plus Harrisons Racers' Lancia the absolute star of the show this morning. Again, a big thank you to all entrants in this class for sending cars for me to run this weekend!
