A lot of progress...rear axle needs shortening and wheel inserts are ready to print.
Bodyshell, driver/navigator, wheel inserts and IL pod are resin 3D printed, chassis is 3D printed on a filament printer.
Motor is a short can, not sure what make as it's one acquired from an ex-club member but checks out at about 18k using the Giri app and will be more than enough for a Rally car.
10/26 gearing, Slotingplus guide (needs trimming), independently rotating front wheels, all tyres glued/trued, fronts also hard coated, rears are NSR Supergrips.
One photo shows the car sitting on a 1.5mm ground clearance block I put in the 3D section.
Track test tonight at the club...

The other Manx entry has built a brass SW chassis for a Ninco XK120...it goes rather nice which got me thinking about the XK120 I pensioned off recently...plastic SW chassis with a SlotIt pod 54mm across the tyre walls...very tall order, can't be done
...or can it?
Pod bearings are gone, an AW gear has the boss length ground back half way through the screw hole so the only way to fix it to the axle was either glue...or solder. It's not something I've done before but tinned the axle with acid flux then pushed the spur gear in place whilst the solder was melted - it's not going anywhere now!
Currently fettling to get sufficient clearances whilst keeping some strength in the 3D printed plastic.
Hopefully get it testing on Thursday.
Photos when I get home.

Hi Graham, the other Manx entry would like to enter a Mustang which is a resin repop of the Pioneer Mustang and would like to know if it's eligible?
...bearing in mind we now know the Pioneer Mustang is actually a '67 or '68, this may also effect other builders getting a car ready.
He's also prepared an alternative car just in case

If it’s a 67 or later car it is not eligible for Event 1

Ninco Jag XK120 with a new lease of life.
Original interior and driver with added navigator
Getting a SW pod in a plastic chassis this narrow required surgery...of spur gear and pod.
1.6mm ground clearance
NSR Shark 20 motor, NSR rear tyres, Ninco front tyres.
...it's lovely to drive and will see our Rally stages tomorrow night as it's a Rally Christmas Special

Last night was the first Rally event for the XK120, it goes great but even a 20K Shark is too much on these 8.5mm wide tyres...I have a spare Scaleauto Tech-1 20k which seems less aggressive than the Shark in the '65 Mustang
...still not 100% decided on which car
