Britten build
#21

Hi Tony,

The bike is coming along nicely, and looks amazing!  Thumbup

I use nail files from the dollar store and trim them down to size to make small sanding pads to fit in tight spaces. Note there's one on the far right that's been cut in half.

Forgetfulness is the mother of invention. We went on vacation to a cottage rental. I brought everything to work on and paint a few bodies, except sand paper.

I was sitting there on vacation totally unhappy. A second later my wife presents me with that flowery nail file in the picture. It got me through the week. We still laugh about it.  Wrench

I'm almost finished fabbing everything I think.
I'm waiting on some really small nuts and bolts from https://prime-miniatures.co.uk/home
to try and make the supports for the little front spring.
I probably don't need to add this but I wanted to try and challenge myself to do something mechanical and plus I think it looks really cool.

Here's some pics of both sides with and without a rider, I need to decide which blue exhaust configuration I'm going to make as there's not a lot of room plus the really curly setup will probably interfere with the fixing screw hole.

The front mudguard is bugging me, I'd like to shape it more but there's not much to work with.

Not too far from paint.
Cheers

Wow! Super cool progress, Tony!
So, what viscosity oil did you install in the shock?  Wrench

I've finally done the pipes for the bike.
I first tried milliput but it was rubbish so I got some piano wire and two pairs of pliers and held it over one of those little butane burners.
I bent three pieces and then soldered them together.

Took a couple of goes getting the soldering right but i got there.
I added some solder to the pipe that goes into the box to make it thinker.

This little brass clamp is to keep the pipe still.

I think they'll look pretty neat once painted blue.

Now on to the front shock.
Cheers
